Plus sides: 1) Hopefully a soldering iron will become as crucial for mobos as it is for GPU's.
2) Maybe it will lead to a whole new competitive era of developing overclockable HD's and peripheral components.....anyone wanna see my mouse and printer on LN2?

Down side: None of us will have any access to mod info until the cycle is 6 months cold.

Yup now that storage devices are not limited by mechanical limitations. Why NOT overclock your SSD

I would love to see a "modular" SSD come out. One that you can open up add or remove chips on, and access via post Ctrl+J to assign cells into raid as you like IE, that 64GB drive could be come an 8 way raid0 8 GB drive, a 32GB raid1 drive etc etc. Granted 8way would be unreasonable as you would still be limited to 600MBps.

Right at this moment I cant remember which ones, but they did this on a few models to increase speeds. Built in Raids I mean. I don't think the did very well tho otherwise it owuld have become more wide spread.

LMFAO

Thanks for the april fools joke.

@BE: yeah it was ALL of them No nand can hit 285STR. It is all raided to some degree, in effect. Just saying.

Would be nice if we had control of the cheap chips they use or not.

I love my SF1200.. best SSD ever.. will I hate it when it dies next year? instead of 15 years from now? sure...

SSDs are for benching only

TBH. Yeah I am using them But I also know they will probably be dead before the 3yr life expectancy and I wil get upgraded through RMA.

Just saying. Get SLC for OS.
