Default colder

I received an email today..It seems the 2 people I have been benching for now request that I move up to 5.0....

Basiclly they want me to get Colder!!!!
I am wondering if Kal emailed them????

I have been in touch with SDumper who does custom SS builds....

This will be a new arena for me and I think I will build a second set-up for this...I could still be using an Asus MB..It just depends on if they are free...

I will need some help with this as i am a noob4life but I know i can get it here...

LIKE

what is a cold boot issue???

these SS babies probably put off some condensation so how is this dealt with...

Will I be able to control the SS at all like after a run can I ease it up so i can make a post????

A whole new world and i am shooting to make my guys pay for it....

The upside is i will get more VGA's to test and will share...

so maybe Help me if you can....

I love you guys and girls...Jimmy/LS

Cold boot is when the cpu is too cold to boot up.
For example.......
Today, I wanted to be swinging D!@K so I set everything up and pulled the CPU Ln2 pot down to -50c thinking it wasn't going to be too cold for first boot. WRONG! I forgot the cold boot on this chip is -42c. Each chip has differing cold boot temps. So I had to wait till it dropped down to -42c to boot upt he PC.

Once booted up, I can go in and drop the temps down further after getting my target settings setup. Now I pull down to about -100c and increase clocks with Evbot or Eleet or setfsb, whatever ur mobo needs to adjust clocks once in the operating system.

From this point you can reboot as you like, change blckc in bios, change voltages. If you're Cold Boot is -42c, you do not want to trigger a full shutdown reset.

Full shutdown resets happen when you change timings on your memory, the mem divider, cpu features, not sure about pci clock speed tho, don't remember.

Cold Bug occurs when you're in the OS and you pull down temps too far. Everything starts to get sluggish in the os or it will just freeze, usually around -120c for me on this 3570. At this point you are SCREWED and better pick up a magazine while you wait for temps to rise to -42c again. You're best bet is to make sure you're butane torch has butane in it and heat the inside of the pot till you regain you're desired temps.

Running an SS with a crap cpu that wants to bug out around -42c will suck but like I said, all the chips seem to vary at their cold bug spot but most run on SS nicely.

Insulation:
We have a few insulation threads in the ln2 section that are good reading. In the end, its you're hands and style and paranoya for condensation that will matter. Don't skimp, take ur time and get er dun.

I miss anything?

You'll do fine. Some guys run Cascades for hours on end bro, its all in the insulation job.

I need to study the insulation for sure..The rest will come but the insulation seems crucial...

CBB will not be as much of an issue on the new chips coming out if I understand correctly.

Kal covered pretty much everything else
