None of my SSD's or magnetic drives have been any worse for ware, But It took 5 different XP instalation disc's to install XP to a second partition. Once done my windows 7 install lasted 1 day until it was completly corrupted, I was using a Vertex 2 on the 6Gb port for 7 and 3 GB port on a Raptor for XP ..... totally frustrated,
I called Asus Tech support on Friday night and they had no idea what the problem was. They simply said the board must be bad and to send it back. (Pretty technical diagnosis on their part

)
I was not convinced and kept trying XP till it took with the fifth disc. Once I saw my 7 partition was wasted, I then called them back and was lucky enough to get someone with a bit more experience. They pointed to the faulty 3Gb port imediatly and said this would get worse not better and to send the board back immediatly.....
I do think once this platform is right it will be the bomb, but from the looks of it there will be plenty of pain and suffering to go round. But this will pave the way for the new Enthusisat level socket due in the third quarter. We can only hope ....
I was having the same issue with hard reboot to set timing as travis. BIOS is a POS
Observation:
Asus new BIOS is not right and needs time to mature. this is the kick off for the gooie interface so I think we may need to cut them a bit of a break here. Giga played it safe but I am sure they will have their issues when they make the jump. and as far as the chipset, well everybody from the bottom up will be burned and Intel is going to pay through the nose to make this go away....
