lesstutrey is just getting started
Default i know it's dated, but 1366 i7 rig, currently unknown name

already have:
Lian-li V2000B (with window on mobo section)
Foxconn Bloodrage GTI
xeon w3550 (4.9ghz on phase with 1.45, limited by board from going further, need a 1366 benching board, never run cpu on air/water cooling)
6gb mushkin 2000mhz redlines (which i've heard unlucky things about, mine are EOL and i might upgrade to a 12gb kit)
Inbound from the egg an XFX 6950 with the dual fans
Cooling will be h2o, like every build i do now, with an enzotech block on the cpu, and possibly a block on the gpu (which will get converted to xfire as prices drop) in the future.

Still need a pair of SSDs for OS/Software (was thinking calistos but i dunno what the best deal is for ~60gb drives, got these novas and am hearing terrible things), a raid card to control at least one raid5 setup, 4x 2tb samsung f4s.

So what i need recommendations on: relatively inexpensive raid card that ideally supports 8 sata channels (thought about LSI 9211, but it doesn't do raid5) and what ~60gb ssds i should get. I mean, you can show me expensive products, but i probably can't afford them This is also going to make need a new 1366 benching board (since i never had a decent one, so i can retake some records with the w3550). Ultimately spending a ton on this system has already happened, now i just need to make it. But i don't want to unload all my cash as i know a couple new platforms are coming out, from both intel and amd. Bulldozer sounds more up my alley..

Just need a not quite top of line gaming rig (since no 980/990x, not a 6990 or 590 and no sandybridge, how can it truly be top of the line) that also has a ton of storage, cause wtf is is this lian-li v2000 good for if not using at least half the hdd slots.

Thinking of calling this one Polybius, but that is real tentative. Post pictures as i actually put stuff together, since i'm also sort of do a p5q build i took apart a year ago and never got up and running again, now slightly upgraded.
