i think i was in the same boat as you, but Nature just didn't scale the way i thought it would. i just ran the exact same OS, tweaks everything...so i don't think there is much more to be squeezed out of the setup. uncore and memory are as fast as well so it's not like the system is much different from at 4.2GHz.

Talking with some of the guys, chuchnit included, they talked about how the tweaks change with clock speeds.

Might be worth re-tweaking.

order changes can help but ONLY very slightly
LOD will be about the same

i don't have a 760 so i couldn't tell you if there is or isn't. i also haven't seen an actual head to head comparison so i couldn't even guess as to whether there is or not. in my best guess though, i would say myth with some truth to it...AKA there but overblown by the forumites.
