Don't need copper for NB. Waste o dough.

Yeah, slap the koolance on the NB. The rex NB has that big IHS under the heatsink apparatus so even if you can only get contact on 1/2 of it, it should do well.

why do you need so much cooling on the nb?
i though tey will be ok even at 50~60C

Kiki, things like "all you need" and "ok" don't go well with extreme overclocking. It's all about trying everything you can think of to eke a few more MHz out of something.

In general, you're right though. Sometimes we solder and freeze things that don't do any better than they did unsoldered and unfrozen. But sometimes it helps. Occasionally it helps a lot.

especially with the pre "core" series of CPUs where the memory controller was located in the northbridge instead of the CPU. This chip tends to get very hot with the "normal" heat sink into the 70/80s range with a strong OC
