Default Strange Occurrance - 762

I have the X-cool jumper set for extreme freezing. In the past, the ecp always displayed FF and the BIOS always displayed -43.

Just noticed today that while I was setting up around 10C, both the ecp and the BIOS were reading about 10C. It was a little spooky cause they were both tracking pretty good with my K type, which I think means I had a good mound :

Anyway, this I don't think is supposed to happen, unless BIOS a59 changed the functionality of the readouts in x-cool mode.

A few days ago a 480 went up in smoke in one of the slots, and I'm hoping that has nothing to do with it??? Replacement card is hear and everything seems to be working as it should?

Anyone else seeing any similar effects on your rigs?

No, but, I'd do the following just in case:

1: place jumpers back to original locations
2: double check your pci-e molex power is still connected to the board
3: grab your bios flash disk and re-flash the bios
4: Check again to see that everything is behaving properly

"normal" for mine is when the x-cool is thrown, only FF is displayed after the startup routine. Did just flash the BIOS fairly recently to 59 - and - just checked the molex and when I checked for tightness it did go down some, so... may be it.

Will reflash to play safe

Thanks

Mine shows -40 something on my 759 when jumper is in that position. Mine shows FF to in that position whereas in the other it showed the temps. It's normal.

agreed, but, what I experienced today wasn't "normal"

I've still got some juice so I'll start er up again later if the wife doesn't want me to watch a movie or something

lol, tell her to fetch parts and like it... j/k, j/k. (rofl, then tell her "happy mother's day" like you would April Fool's)

Sounds like a bios - style hiccup to me. when the x-cool is flipped the cpu sensor is "off." Mine used to say -42, but after I flashed to bios 56 she reads -43 and the nb flashes neg temps for a split second every once in a while.

mine always read -43 in BIOS before I flashed to a59 ??? Maybe it was the molex? I'll start her up after dinner with just the pot on it and check what the system monitor screen tells me. Prolly have to wait until next weekend after I get back anyway
