My Cas 7 2000mhz DomGt's just tanked. Actually one module tanked but that destroys the entire set of 3. They don't make the damn things anymore but the warranty say's they'll send me something at least of the same value - and these bad boys were expensive when they came out, so hopefully ....... :blink:

Bummerz man, nice set of sticks there but as they say "you can't live forever!"

With SB wont it be better to hold off the RMA till the last couple of months of warranty and keep using the 2 remaining sticks?? Even those 2200Mhz CL9 look stupid in front of the GT's

They tried to send me 2K 8-9-8 sticks when I sent a set of 2KC7, hope you have better luck :)

Now this worries me if both you and Punx had the same response. the 8-9-8 are less than half the price and I already own 6 of them dammit :ohcrap:

G Skill did something similar to me when I RMAd my Perfect Storms and got Tridents back :thumbdown:

Gonna have to call Corsair before I send them.

Banik, they're lifetime warranties, but not a bad idea for using them with SB :d

sell them and make $250 lol!

Ask them back and wait!
When new kits for X79 will come up then RMA'ed them and ask for similar performance kit for X79 ;)

I called Corsair today and told the guy my problem with not wanting to send in 3 sticks of Cas7 DomGts (only 1 bad stick) only to receive 3 sticks of Cas8. :ohcrap:

He confirmed that the Cas8 were the standard replacement for the Cas7, so I brought up the fact that the Cas7s were not only faster, but much much higher priced.

He asked if I had a alternative in mind and I suggested that I'd send him only the 1 bad stick of Cas7 and they could send me 1 stick of Cas8 in return. I've already got 6 sticks of the cas8, so that's the p55, the p67, and an X58 all set to go :P

He, however, expressed concern that I wouldn't have a matched set which could cause conflicts and put a note in their computer that I would send in 1 stick of C7 and they would send me back 3 sticks of C8 :thumbsup: That's much closer to a dollar for dollar value, so....

I didn't argue :D

Had I not posted the death of my 1 stick, I'd have never known they'd screw me and wouldn't have had the chance to negotiate this better deal :blink:
