5770?
I'm looking to get another 5770 for some CF action, I was looking around and i can choose one.
Should i go with: XFX V1 <-- Same one i currently have Sapphire Vapor-X i really don't like the look of the egg shaped cooler so i don't want one of those i want to order it today if possible so i can have it by the end of the weekend |
I like to go different brands that way if one is a better clocker I can use that for single card benching :)
But if aesthetics is your thing, than get the same brand :) |
they are about the same price on the egg.
I'm leaning more towards the vapor-x more then the xfx right now i don't think cooling will be a problem since its in a danger den torture rack with enough air |
hmm if you are looking for crossfire action and you have the Sapphire, then get the Sapphire.
|
i have the xfx double lifetime warranty
i posted a wtb thread on another forum and see if i get any offers on a v1 |

Liottle closer look at it, I dont like the design on either one of those coolers, but the vaporX probably less so.
Go with the shroud style cooling of the V1, and see if you can sink grab some uber thing mem sinks to help chill them chips out |

i have some heatsinks that i use on my current one to cool the mem chips in the back of the card |
Yeah the V1 is the standard 5000 series type "shroud" cooling yes? Not the funky egg shaped one?
this one? The side blow fan style might actually cool a little better, however it runs into 2 problems. a) you are dumping the heat back into the case b) the fan is directly over the core so in a crossfire situation you are pulling the air directly off the back of the next card AT the hottest part of the back of the card. I am running the 4890 which uses the shroud style cooler, and with a little modification it works AWESOME :) (the mod fixed my VDDC temps about 15-20C :) just a clean and repasting and about 3 mounts to get it adjusted right :) ) |
