Resident Evil 5 Benchmark Hack or Tweak?
It has recently come to my attention that if you go into the config.ini file of the Resident Evil 5 benchmark app, you can significantly increase benchmark Frames Per Second.
I've seen countless reviews using RE5 as a benchmark. Is it a hack or tweak? You decide.
Personally, and for a very long time now, I believe in the pureness of running a benchmark straight up and comparing you'r ability to push hardware rather than software. Unfortunately, if you want to compete at the bot, you must learn to tweak os settings and most time 3D settings in order to compete on the high end scale of scores. Same goes for 2D benchmarks as well. In my mind, you can't compare the score or performance of "x" memory modules, clock for clock, against "xxx" memory modules if the user of "x" is tweaking the shiznasty out of everything from the registry to benchmark files. Hardware first is where its at IMO. 2cents.
