Finally arrived today but I am stuck in bios atm...seems my mouse cursor is stuck to the extreme left side of the screen and keyboard is unresponsive. I would have preferred a tradition bios...

Man that blows....

Have not even checked, are there any new BIOS files for them yet ?

Got mine yesterday but waiting on a cooler  .... H70 ??? :ohcrap:

we'll see LOL

Have to install tile in my kitchen this weekend but hope to get time to slap this thing together as well ....

DrNip 01-20-2011 09:10 AM

Wired, rf, bluetooth keyboard/mouse?

rickss69 01-20-2011 09:15 AM

Wired usb mouse/keyboard...it's like a magnet is holding the cursor to the right side of the screen. I think ctrl/M takes you to the standard bios but no luck yet.

DrNip 01-20-2011 09:17 AM

Does keyboard shortcuts work?

Witchdoctor 01-20-2011 09:27 AM

HAve PS/2 set of keys or mouse ?

worth a shot

Hondacity 01-20-2011 09:29 AM

i wonder if asus will support overvoltage pll on this board...

so far asus pro/deluxe and m4e only has it...or i haven't seen it yet

Yeah this is what I would try. ;)

rickss69 01-20-2011 09:35 AM

Changed keyboard and got the mouse to work for a moment but it reverted back to the same old s**t. Managed to get OS to load but now have no mouse cursor available. Jesus...

DrNip 01-20-2011 09:40 AM

I'm clueless on this one. :Dizzy:

rickss69 01-20-2011 09:45 AM

Gotta go to work now - I'll mess with it later.

ocgmj 01-20-2011 10:30 AM

Which usb ports do you have it plugged in? Might be a option in bios to enable/disable usb keyboard & mouse.

Worth a shot if you have not already tried it

Neuromancer 01-20-2011 03:39 PM

Going to be tough to flash the BIOS without KB/Mouse...

Hondacity 01-20-2011 06:27 PM

you don't need kb and mouse for the rog boards..im not sure about this board though

Luckily I was able to snag a PS/2 keyboard and mouse from work. Finally got some cooperation with a PS/2 keyboard-USB mouse combo. I thought I had seen some OS installs from hell, but I swear I had Satan straddled on my shoulders on this one. I am not liking this set-up right now...feel like if I had gone with my original pick of a Gigabyte mb I would have been benching by now.

Anyway, I havent wrapped my head around this completely yet. Still have to flash these cards and check on a mb bios update. The Asus bios flash utility appears to be worthless so far. I'll keep pounding on it until I figure something out.

DrNip 01-21-2011 02:01 AM

Good info man. Don't trip. Many were tricked into these mobos with eufi's thinking they would be better. Glad I have a PS2 keyboard and mouse incase I run into this problem tonight.

HITandRUN 01-21-2011 02:42 AM

Great to see you progressing. I always use PS2 stuff since I ran into this problem before on a Gigabyte board.

Witchdoctor 01-21-2011 02:53 AM

did you grab the 1053 ?

rickss69 01-21-2011 04:06 AM

That one isnt listed for that board WD - I would be shy about trying to flash it.

Witchdoctor 01-21-2011 04:14 AM

Yea prolly right.

Found this on a BIOS list over at OCN .....

Prolly end up turning into a Deluxe or pro version ............

But Asus has to step up here and get a Kick ass BIOS on the street.

Their site completly blows for the record ....

Edit,

here is the sorce for the 1053

http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...d-drivers.html

If mine is effed up I am going with it ............

Neuromancer 01-21-2011 05:54 AM

For the pro and deluxe the latest BIOS is 1253 not 1053. 1053 is the latest for the WS.

http://www.mediafire.com/?k1ycn0cwlgxk2yb

The are not listed on the site yet but are posted up by the ASUS tech guys :) Check out [H] they are listed there JJ and the other guy post there.

Witchdoctor 01-21-2011 06:23 AM

Cool, is it any help ?

Neuromancer 01-21-2011 07:07 AM

I am multi (and voltage) limited no matter what multi.

Cant boot over 1.525 or I get a CPU over voltage error. using offset instead of mnaul raises the limit but I still hit it sometimes as offset voltage is totally unpredictable.

+.2 voltage might be 1.475 or 1.6 depending on its mood.

Witchdoctor 01-21-2011 07:38 AM

5.2 is still a nice ride though .... diggin the sub 7 32m

are you on the 1053 or the 1253 ....

Can't wait to get started. This honey do list crap I have to deal with this weekend sucks ...

I will be installing tile instead of building my rig .........

Neuromancer 01-21-2011 07:59 AM

I am running 1253, although I was running 5.2GHz on the 1053 as well

4700MHz - I can't get cpu tweaker to open up... (Correction, 4700MHz)

Witchdoctor 01-21-2011 05:04 PM

Do I hear 5 ?

What are you cooling it with ?

rickss69 01-21-2011 05:12 PM

Using the Boreas TEC - If I can't get cpu-tweaker to run I'm wasting my time.

Witchdoctor 01-21-2011 05:19 PM

did you try lowering bclk to get more multi ?

Doesn't Asus have any program like Eleet for eVGA ?

What BIOS did you settle on ?
