What you have been waiting for...
|
Gonna have to wait till the 15th to order my 2600k.
OCM  |
Getting ready to leave for MCfor a 2600K for $ 279.99
Now I just need a board |
Woot woot!!! Now only if the P67 micro mobos would come. All I see are H67's.
|
Wondering if a Gene is going to be released by Asus for this platform
If so I am on that trian .... |
I was wondering that just an hour ago. Prolly on down the line. Until then I'm looking for the P8P67-M PRO not the P8H67-M PRO. Found it at some off beat shops for around $150. I still have a month until my newest build will be complete so I'm not going to push the button on it quite yet.
|
Yea just on the egg they only have the H67 in a micro flavor

LOL ..... saved me 300 buck I guess ......... But this is actually for a lan box build, not for benching so to speak |
When will this be available? http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=ZYgjt71bzlh62Zk9

Don't know, I am actually hoping a Maximus Gene comes out for this platform.
They had a ton of boards down there. Nothing decent on the Micro ATX platform though. Here is the case I am looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144139 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133187 May bump the lan box up to a mini ATX, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112218 Just want to be portable but want to be able to run anything on it. F1 2010 Crysis 2 coming soon |
The 1st two are nice cases. I would show the one I got but can't release my info until build is complete. :D
|
emailed my contact at ASUS about Sabertooth and the Gene, its Sunday so I probably will not hear back till the work week starts. If he has any information I will post it up in this thread for you guys.
Hopefully Gigabyte releases a nice ITX format based on the p67/z68. :) |
Thanks bro, much appreciated
Top Secret Nip ............ |
Get one of these WD and cut an opening with a hole saw in top so you can have a proper hsf... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129034
|
LOL ..............
That would be wicked, pop rivet a hood scoop on the bitch ........... Grabbed an H70 for the CPU .... prolly going to get a serious aftermarket cooler for the GPU |
Nice. Was going to go with the H70 myself but don't think it will fit. It might if I get a 120x12mm fan but really don't want to go that route. Might still get it and try and if not send it back for the Coolit which I know will fit. Problem I will run into is RAM clearance with it.

Picture this...a birdcage with three levels inside. Bottom level holds the psu and hdd. Center holds the mb and graphics card. Top level contains a Boreas TEC cooler. A cord sticking out the bottom and a handle on top...doesnt get more portable than that. You could even get one of those birdcage covers for when you transport it. ;)
http://www.birdcages.com/bird-cages/...cagemedium.cfm Or maybe just two levels with the mb on top and the rest on the bottom. Perhaps a Cape Cod is more to your liking... http://www.birdcages.com/bird-cages/...odbirdcage.cfm Oooo...bird proof lock on this one. http://www.birdexpressions.com/poqui...avel-cage.html Oh - I almost forgot the cover. http://www.birdexpressions.com/bird-cage-covers.html (Yes, I have too much time on my hands.) :taunt: |
On a more serious note - If I were to try a 2600K, which of these two mb's would be more desirable if either?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128462 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131681 |
Out of those two I would go with the UD3P.
|
Not much out there atm...and no user input either.
|
Yea not much information
On looks alone I think the UD3P as well the UD5 looks sick but ecpensive |
Looking hard at this one... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128460
I see no difference and I never do more than one card. |
i like this one vs that one rick... looks lile 14 phase power around CPU socket one your looking at looks cheap
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128462 |
Yeah, that's the one I was considering earlier. Go back to TPU and check my response in the thread lol...
|
Well maybe hold out and let's see where these things land on the food chain.
I am sure there will be a lot more boards released this month I like the P version of that board though, as stated on looks alone and iof it does have better power delivery than it is all good .... I guess |
Where is Evga in all this? Is OC still waiting on a chip? I would like to see how that Gigabyte fares.
Just found this... http://www.evga.com/products/moreinf...130-SB-E675-KR ...whats the hold up you think? Doesnt look to be much of an offering either. The Evga forums are more than a little pissed it seems. |
evga is late to the party.
The Classy P67 will be out soon I am sure. |
Just nabbed a 2600k for the egg.
|
Considering what they intend to offer initially I have little faith in them atm.
|
i have faith in evga...

I like the ASUS board, but only because I use a lot of USB stuff and the 4 USB3 ports is nice. ASSUMING of course that the ASUS board comes with a front panel usb3 aapter (I dod not see one pictured) it has the 19 pin header on board for the ASUS front panel USB3, but I did not see one in accessories.
USB3 makes USB2 faster as well, allowing it to hit the actual maximum values. Gigabyte looks okay as well. One quick look I do not see any difference between them. |
Been eying up this case. If I can find an acceptable Micro ATX board
it has a handel ................. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146065 |
Newegg has the Asus P8P67-M PRO. Nabbed one of those as well.
|
Nice.........
Looks like your 1155 build is coming together .............. :clapping: |
Case, CPU and mobo are. The rest will have to wait until 2/1. Going to be hard to sit here and look at this hardware for weeks but this isn't my 1st rodeo. ;)
