Benchtek tweaker tool

Anybody got time to try this out? I'm definitely interested in the OPB cleaner, wprime and pifast tweak functions.

Ya but its cool that it's public now. The only thing that sucks is the .net requirement. You have to have internet connection to do the install. I have no internet on my .iso's  I've never had luck slipstreaming .net either to ease ATI CCC installs. I always had to revert back to my .iso's with internet explorer.

Very nice! I love it when folks share.

Now to find the time to try it out.... :ohcrap:

I'm not denying my ignorance, but I've never managed to properly slipstream .net, ever. I have tried a few times when I wanted to use CCC, but just when I thought it was slipstreamed, I get the msg saying I need .net during driver installs

Jor-El 07-07-2010 07:18 PM

Now I wish this wPrime tweak will give me the extra milliseconds I need! I will test this soon as my new classy just arrived from RMA!

As soon as I get the OCA Newegg Gist card I will get the Asus open box and test that sucker too.

Uhm.... usb drives still exist. I hear they are handy ;)

I keep a copy of .net 1.1 and 3.5 "just in case." They also work well when the updates keep failing for those at the shop.

uhmm explain.... For the initial install aren't you still going to need to have internet for it's retarded validation or whatever.

FACE 07-08-2010 01:26 AM

nope ;)

iirc, it just checks to make sure it's activated. The genuine advantage check will happen on the system you are downloading it from.:thumbsup:

nono, I'm just talking about whatever it does that takes forever and an internet connection during the install. iirc, it downloads like 50mb of data or something? Whatever I'm interested in this tool. I'm going to try and squeeze in .net to give it a whirl.

FACE 07-08-2010 01:55 AM

The redistributable .net shouldn't check for anything or require an internet connection. All you should need for this tool is the framework anyway, so if it does look for something, you most likely don't need/want it.

I'm interested to see how well this beefy tool works. I tend to raise an eyebrow at any all-in-one anything, as something is usually lacking. Time will tell.

Splave 07-08-2010 02:53 AM

any notes on what some of the tweaks are for like wprime?

Tweaks are listed HERE.

Seems the bases are well covered after reading through it a couple times.

Splave 07-08-2010 03:14 AM

thanks face

this is confusing me

WPrime:
Start WPrime
Set number of threads
Open WPrime Tuner
Start Calculation
Once specified number of threads have been started press "Start WPrime Tweak"
WPrime will now run at realtime priority.

I assume you run the tweak before you actually begin the calculating, instructions are off?

FACE 07-08-2010 03:16 AM

only one way to find out fo sho'.

Maybe there is a "start calculation" checkbox or something that automatically starts wprime?

karmakazi 07-08-2010 06:40 AM

no u gotta start the wprime calc FIRST then run the tweak. this is because wprime open 8 instances of the program only after it begins calc. If you apply the tweak before, it doesnt affect any of the new threads wprime starts.

Its a shame this was released public, I was working on exactly the same thing to public release under the PURE moniker :( Well at least I dont have to spend anymore time on the wprime tweaker. Though this program is much more full featured than mine was (I was only doing wprime tweaks since waza/screenshot/pifast etc all have other publically available tools to tweak them).

I still have something going they dont have in there though... :P

Splave 07-08-2010 06:54 AM

I assume then that the wprime tweak is better 1024 for 8threads or less as gulfie takes like 3 seconds? I would figure running a program while you ran wprime would negate or worsen your score?

Very cool lookin pcmark05 tool :) cant tease without sharing when its done ;)

karmakazi 07-08-2010 07:15 AM

yeah from my testing it only really makes a noticeable difference in pre core i7 cpus. It made a slight difference in 1024m for my w3540, but for 32M i think it actually slowed it down some.

I will of course post the pcmarrk tweaker when its finished, of course any ideas for things to include are more than welcome. The program is still in an alpha revision, although all current features do work. I have some other things I want to add into it for easy access (such as lod for the 3d tests)

Splave 07-08-2010 07:18 AM

awesome man, any registry settings to add?

karmakazi 07-08-2010 07:21 AM

Sure im open to any suggestions! There are of course a few questionable tweaks for pcmark 05 which I am not going to include, and some tweaks which are not able to be performed by a tweaker proggie since they require you to download and install other programs.

GeorgeStorm 07-09-2010 06:34 AM

To be fair, this has only been in dev a month,, maybe a little more.
K404 has been working the last couple of months on most of his hwbot attack :p
Its quite good, although testing by bustah shows that a manual copywazza is a little better.
