Whats The "Hands Down Best" DDR2 For Benching

I have a set of Gksill HZs, 2x1Gb. They do pretty good, just shy of 1050Mhz 4-4-4-12 with 2.25v. Is there any other set, even 512mb or even 256Mb sticks (smaller is best I assume), that are better? Goal would be to have the set that does best timings at lower ram situations, and another for best high speed (and hopefully good timings too).

They would be used for 775 and AM2+.

I was looking for some of the 10 year anniversery 667s, but cant find any.
Did D9s come in 512mb sticks?

Im not really benching anything right now that requires high speed. The older E6300 I have is probably the highest FSB CPU I have.

:D i still got my 2 sided ballistx 1066 or 33 i forgot wut speed they are lol

How about some old "fat body" D9s? DQT and DQWs.

I'm a Mushkin fan...

Mushkins are faster as long as you follow step 5 in the instructions...

Not going to say its the BEST. I loved my blade series ram, but the price is DAMN hard to beat

$80 bucks for 5-5-5 1200MHz :) Sure you can drop that down to say 1000 4-4-4

Cecil 05-14-2010 08:48 PM

I was just playing with my HZs a little bit, and got about 1020Mhz 4-4-3-8 with 2.4vdimm on AM2+.

Nice.

The sticks I linked were 1.8v Not sure how well they respond to high voltage like that though.

The micron D9GTR/GTX are about the best I have seen on DDR2 but they need 2.5-2.7 volts to hit 4-4-4 at 1200.:ohcrap:

When I was benching P45 platform the very best ram I had were these: http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/teamgrou..._id=1&pl2_id=2

Prefer 1Gb sticks to 2Gb for older platforms...

I found a 2x1 set of Kingston HyperX 1200Mhz D9GKX, trying to get them for <$50.

kow_ciller 05-15-2010 07:00 PM

I've got some cellshocks that do 630mhz @ 4-4-5-10. Not bad for $38 ram. The guy I got them from still has two other sets. Pretty much any D9 sticks should get you some pretty solid speeds.

Neuromancer 05-16-2010 07:11 AM

Yah cellshocks are the best bet for insane voltages and speeds. Impossible to find though in the US.

The only link I find is on google.. for a 2GB kit of DDR3 D9JNLs and I had a 3GB kit of them in my Viper patriot extremes. 7-7-7 at about 1700MHz on "normal voltages" of 1.8-1.85 Not DDR2 and not very good ram chips IMHO.

Look for crucial ballistix FD3's or FD5's. Best benching DDR2 u can find. Ran mine @ up to 2.6v on air. Did 1200mhz 4-4-4-10 easy

Cecil 05-19-2010 12:13 PM

Lost the HyperXs by $1.
Found a 2x512Mb Ballistix 667 set for $15 shipped, just got here today.
