Totally Bummed

but in a good way ;)

Got my dewar refilled today, and they filled it up to the very top, which is great, but, with little to no air inside it isn't building up pressure  I've been able to get about 1 liter out of it before it petered out  Waiting for some pressure to build so I can extract some more. Can't start benchin until I can get a reliable stream of LN2 at my beck and call :ohcrap:

Good part is I guess, once I get it started I can bench until way past my bedtime :D

sounds like a good kinda problem.... kinda like your bought too many cards "problem"

Chuchnit 05-04-2010 03:05 PM

Good problem buddy. Full dewar can't be bad. :D

MaadDaawg 05-04-2010 03:08 PM

Can, could be worse :D

Slowly passing into pissed off stage - wifes out of town and I was looking forward to freezing my balls off tonight  I found out that if I shake it up a little it seems to help... but who knows ;)

meh.. she's gone the rest of the week so... lol

Buckeye 05-04-2010 03:37 PM

Yup happens to me all the time on my 50L

They fill it till spills over the top. Then takes mine over night to get a good flow coming out.

Is yours a low pressure Dewar ?

MaadDaawg 05-04-2010 03:46 PM

I'm thinking it's atmospheric - or low pressure :D Second time this has happened but I had planned on going gung ho tonight, but... could be worse, I guess. If it doesn't start flowing by tomorrow afternoon I'll take it outside and let it sit in the sun for awhile.. that'll do it :D

DOM 05-04-2010 04:24 PM

sucks doesnt it when you have to wait for somthing you want to do. i have to wait 8hrs a day cuz i have to work lol then hear the wife get mad and hear the kids cry lol

forgot to mention that it's a 160L vat lol.

Splave 05-05-2010 03:39 AM

ROFL

I use the vent side of my withdrawl device as a spout and tip and pour when I have no pressure ftw :)

Chuchnit 05-05-2010 03:56 AM

You can shake the dewar to build pressure faster. Atleast that's what the guy at the gas place told me.

MaadDaawg 05-05-2010 08:23 AM

Thanks for all the advice guys  unfortunately I had already gone to bed :ohcrap: I did shake it and that helped some, but not enough. Wish I would have thought of Splaves idea of pouring out of the vent dammit. Ain't no frigging way I can lift a ful 35l and pour into the pot w/o doing serious damage to my back ... maybe next time I'll pay Spliggitys airfare to come over and pour lol

TONITE.. if I have to lift the damn thing over my head (and be in the hospital tomorrow lol)

In fact, I'm waiting for work to be quiet long enough so I can slip away and start early:muaha:

Splave 05-05-2010 08:36 AM

in for the win :) best of luck on your session maadd

MaadDaawg 05-05-2010 08:53 AM

MaadDaawg 05-05-2010 09:18 AM

Naw, not ready for the lime lite yet Rev :Dizzy: Just looking to get back into the top 20 again for now. Thinking 19 and 20 slots are at real risk there dudes HAHAHA

3 lbs of pressure built up overnight so I think I'm in business :D

You are Maad, don't think otherwise brother. It's a great venue for us to get together, offer help and just shoot the shit live.

MaadDaawg 05-05-2010 11:00 AM

Thanks Rev, maybe some weekend soon, when I'm not so rushed for time. Could use the input from you guys, so long as you don't lead me into blowing my rig up

MaadDaawg 05-05-2010 04:10 PM

As it turns out, it's a shame I wasn't live broadcasting (or is that broadcasting live?). I was successful in getting back into the top 20 with a fairly nice Vantage run with the SLI 480s on stock and the CPU about -145C. Then I went for 2006 which was wide open virgin (makes ya think don't it  ) territory, when, all of a sudden, much to my surprise...

One of my cards went up in smoke  Literally - smoke shooting out of each orafice. Card is certifiably dead.

Would have made for an exciting broadcast

punx223 05-05-2010 04:14 PM

damn sorry to hear bro... we will get her replaced.

MaadDaawg 05-05-2010 04:26 PM

I say we all write in and nominate Punx to be EVGAs' EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR !!!!

cept that might work against him :P

If ya wanna send a Shammy vmod special instead of a new one, that would work for me

Thanks again Bro

PS. RMA process is already completed - can't beat that for customer service :) This man deserves an award dammit :D
