Looks like NBOC has a new competitor based on the beta bot.

I'm excited. Just put a little more fun into overclocking if you ask me. I welcome the change.

I have not had time to really look at this but my understanding is these dual GPU cards are going to take a beating .... sucks as my 295 numbers are going to drop off considerable ..... I will be going single card CF/SLI and so on for now on .....
Not sure of all the implications but will have to take some time to read what's up. I think this will change to landscape considerable in 2010 for all the teams. teams that did not rely on these two GPU monsters for global boints will have the upper hand to say the least ...... NBOC will adapt to overcome this temperary set back as I am sure OCA will do the same |
We're just puttering along atm. It's like surfing, sometimes you gotta wait for the big set.

It's hard to say where we all stand til the dust settles.
From what I've seen so far, I lost a bunch of global boints, but picked up a shitload of hwboints. They must be still screwing with the formulas because points are fluctuating up and down everytime I look. We'll see when rev3 is official. |

Yep, looks like the rankings will be shaken up but good once the final changes are made.
Need to watch those and see where I finally wind up, then go from there. |

O.k. guys, take this screenshot with a grain of salt, its based on a very old database of hwbot points and countless submissions have been submitted since this data was retrieved. So basically you cannot truely determine where you will stand once it goes "Live".

Yeah I'm not fully understanding the 3d scoring I guess, mainly the 01. That appears to have taken a big loss in points. More or less the loss it is the global points are gone or at least on some submissions or something. Maybe they haven't figured them all in yet. I dunno. For instance my 3d01 - 2x gtx 260 - 108,486 submission went form 26 points to only 1.5 points. No global points for it on the new database. Then again it might have to do something with the dual GPU's and they are stealing the global points in 3d01. I haven't ran mine in that bench. Going to have to give that a try and see where it gets me when it goes live. I see everybody has low points in that bench too. Have to wait and see I guess.

It is probably the dual card that is reducing the points. The new system is weighted more on popularity of the hardware vs. actual score results. Early peeks at the new rev, single card G80 results will be awarding the most 3D points. Old C2D chips look to be awarding the most CPU points...

I see the thread in look at the beta hwbot is working again...I also see that no submissions for the 5970 or subs for the last 10 days or so have been added....Just like Kal said...

It's not using nearly the most recent submissions. Check you're profile for some of you're latest boint runs Gunny.

I have not benched in 2 months, pretty sure the cornholeing I got is correct. 40K in vantage gets no points, that just ain't right...

I lost over 200bts and have no global in 01, 03 or 05...guess we wait and see what the deal is in a few more days. obamanomics hits the bench community with a vengence, redistribution of boints lmao:blink:

I just hope they have put some work into the slowness of their site. It kills me at times. I see they have a new category for max FSB. I wonder if that is going to include max BCLK or if that will be a different category. I hope a different category as there is quite a contrast there. I am liking the new achievements they have. I feel for Classic Platforms though as it looks like they are taking a big hit in points. All in all the Bot has knocked the skin off the ball on this new revision. Oh and that 3d problem I mentioned a couple pages ago are now fixed today and awarded more points on my best 3d benches. Looks like it was them not having the global points awarded yet. They most of heard me. :laughing:

Yea CP took it hard but OCA seems to have benefited
It sucks for CP as I feel the new format basically dismisses the hardware they have worked so hard on mastering ... not cool IMO They need to just leave ti alone IMO |
It could also mean discouraging new OC'ers from getting into the sport too. Not everyone can afford the new stuff and must make do with what's available to them. With a economy still trying to recover and no real upswing in jobs resulting in hours being trimmed down for those of us still working, that makes it more of an issue.
I'm thankful to still have my job at least and just getting by for now with not alot of $$ to spare on stuff, otherwise I would have replaced the bad DDR3 RAM in my AM3 build by now along with other improvements. |
Looks like they are changing it as we speak!!!!! As a friend in the top 50 said...The top 100 will be forced to bench the older stuff which in return will lower the scores of the ones below in time..short time!!!! As it is now these scores have not been messed with..That will change...Also people will be shooting for the ORB score rather than the Bots score...

Still down for upgrades. I am interested to see what exactly has changed because when I looked at it last it did not make a lot of sense to me. I understand the GPU change, but not what happened to the CPU stuff.

Did you notice everybody's point sig is down..Must be into it....I looked yesterday and was shocked..I was actually up 5 points from before....I never even joined Bots until I started with the I7....:blink:

Though it definitely is great for me but 3d rankings instead of GPU's should have been based on cards. With rev3 5870 will be the top most single GPU card which is as such great for a short on cash OCer like me, but I am sure sales on 5890 and dual GPU's would drop drastically....Also as Neuro said changes in CPU cores doesnt make much sense IMO but I wont complain, according to the test server I am pretty close to Top most ranking for 1 core processors which has netted me a good amount of hardware points......
