Very nice progress LS, are you at your bleeding edge of stability on the cpu clock?
For the love of Overclocking, get it COLDER! :D |

Well, I am still on the Bleedin edge with this H20 rig but it's all i got for now...
This won't always be the case but it is now and i said i would bench these XFX 5870's and what fun is it if i can't show you....Did manage to get to 40,229 doing 3D05 but couldn't catch the 5970...( only bench) won't bore you with that.. On the other hand I finished up with a good 3D03 run..3300 points better than before at 4.650 I am done now and have did my job....Will give you guys a break at watching this stuff. I have enjoyed playing with the XFX XXX cards.... On a personal note I really like the 5870 and the XFX XXX version is a great one..I will actually keep one of these for myself and i never keep anything...As far as a everyday gamer these just can't be beat at this point.... Thanks for drudging threw me benching these....:Hi: The last run 3D03 2 x XFX 5870 XXX http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...189/141627.png |
Killer score buddy!! What is your uncore at for these runs?
|
Because i am a noob first and foremost and use an Asus board i think you mean QPI voltage....If not let me know...
The QPI voltage for anything over 4.6 with the Asus P6T7 and the 975 needs to be 1.56-1.58...I talked to a friend that said i would be good under 1.60....The 975 was demo also so if it fried it fried but is a strong soldier... Also i should add that the Dominator GT 1866 ram is some great stuff..Running 1864 at 4.650 was killer..My cousin the GSkill salesman hardly speaks to me since switching but you just can't walk away from quality... also i should add that the 975 is not as fast as the 920 was for me..Also takes much more voltage..I was having to run 1.53 at 4.6+ ...Goat and i played with going to a higher multi like Kal was running like a 31 and i can bring the voltage down and move up as far as speed but get a slower score..25 was the best....not sure why..still to green to understand some things... The upside is the 975 seems to stay under 70c even running linX and you can't seem to hurt it..... Hope i have come close to an answer....Thanks for looking at the benches..It was fun...Took a long time but fun.... I won't do anymore even if asked unless it is a version of fermi.... It sounds like you are getting something when you get a couple of these cards but it is time consuming..... I meant what i said..I keep your stuff printed in my binder..It has helped...LS/Jimmy |
I was talking about the uncore mhz. It can be found in the cpuz memory tab. It is labeled as northbridge.

Great work, Jimmy.
I really enjoyed this thread from start to finish. |

Thanks Jesse, alot of the scores came from your help...These are really great cards...Have you decided on which card you are going with???? while looking for what Chuch wanted i remembered i hadn't run Aqua. Beat out the 5970..Not very high clocks on the GPU but i am done..I will edit this and add the results...Get back with me on what you decided to go with.... last bench for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beat the 5970 with 2 x XFX 5870's at low clocks..I could push the clocks a bit but i am done..beat it by 100 points...LOL http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...2x5870Aqua.png |
Thats a strong AQ3 :good:
