With the Lynnfield I can bench with my 2133 RAM but with the Super Talent 1600 RAM I can bench my i550 and i655k. Or at least I hope. I have some 1600 Mushkin's but they are 6-8-6-24 whereas the Super Talent is 6-6-6-18. The Mushkins aren't really that good for 2D benching which is what I am looking to get into. Think I am going to have to sleep on this. I am open to ideas.

TBH If you are burning through RAM like that, I would change IMC. (CPU)

Bet all that dead ram springs to life...

Yes and no

CMOS reset does not = stability.

Not saying they are not dead.. Especially with ASUS you try single stick set BIOS method and reboot like 10 times with 10 stable settings?

Well I slept on it and was going to order the RAM today then I saw the Gemini thread kal started so 1st things 1st, needs me a new pot. Will pick up on this dilemma next week or so. I will buy some RAM and then a Lynnfield. What I can't have both? lol

Well if that's the case, you should go ahead and order a dominance memory cooler from KP too. ;)

DOM 09-14-2010 06:01 AM

which ram did you pick up ?

DrNip 09-14-2010 06:04 AM

Super Talent 2000 MHz cas 8 2 x 2GB. Super Talent is about the only RAM out there now a days with great timings. If this doesn't work then I guess I will move onto getting the Lynnfield, mobo or new hobby.

Hondacity 09-14-2010 06:11 AM
