First Intel Clarkdale Core i3 Low-Voltage Overclocking Feat Yields 4 GHz at 0.832 V (http://www.techpowerup.com/99807/First_Intel_Clarkdale_Core_i3_Low-Voltage_Overclocking_Feat_Yields_4_GHz_at_0.832_V. html)
Intel's upcoming dual-core derivatives of the Nehalem/Westmere architecture, codenamed "Clarkdale" seems to have some interesting electrical characteristics. The CPU component of the chip is built on Intel's brand new 32 nanometre process that facilitates higher transistor densities, and in the process, intends to bring down TDP. An overclocking feat by Coolaler.com seems to suggest one of two things: either these chips have naturally low vCore voltages, or that the overlocking headroom at low-voltages is exceptional. Coolaler used a pre-release engineering sample of the Core i3 Clarkdale processor on a compatible platform, and achieved 4 GHz of clock speed (http://www.techpowerup.com/#) with the vCore at 0.832 V. The frequency multiplier of the CPU was set at 25.0x, and a bus speed of 160 MHz used. Intel will be ready with these processors (http://www.techpowerup.com/#) by the end of this year.

There was some discussion when this was posted on OCX a few days ago and several people in the know said that CPU-Z voltage is off significantly for those chips. Still quite impressive though.

He has also posted 5200+ runs on dice. Hopefully these 32nm chips will be able to replace wolfdales as the go to 1M and 01 chips.

Sounds like it will be a GREAT chip if it can handle 1.5+ volts :D at least handle it long enough for some new 2D records :)

I'm interested in the cold bugs, here.

Link says Core i5. Also, Intel said HT will be on i7s only, and there will be some i7s on LGA1156. They need to make up their mind

HEehehhe, you guyz are crazy!!!

I would LOVE to see a non-existent cold bug in these...AMD style...It would REALLY be something :good:
