Ok so after having some motherboard issues, and talking with Matt, I decided to give the ION/ATOM platform a little test run.

I am still in the building phase but everything should be up and running this weekend.

This is the case:

CLICK ME (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129067)
Complete with 90w PSU that will power the entire rig.

This is the mobo:

I may actually put this mobo up for sale if I need the dual core version, as this will be my main computer. It will do all my work stuff, storage for all my pictures and be my main running computer. Not sure if the single core atom will be enough CPU power but we shall find out, only one way to do that. ;)

I will be running the above, along with a 320gb 16mb cache Seagate Barracuda, a Samsung 22x dvd burner

Now this case only had drive bays for one 5.25 device and 2.5" HDD's
I am using a 3.5" HDD so of course a little modding and reconfiguring will make all that possible.
More pictures and testing coming soon, for now here are some setup pictures.

I will note that I had to cut a couple things off the lower side of the mobo tray in order to fit a 3.5" HDD on top of the DVD drive, all those pictures and more will be coming soon.

Modding is my game.

So far I have her OC'd to 1.925GHZ running very smooth. But this little board is probably gonna go up for sale for the dual core version. If anyone is interested let me know, i'll give you a good price, plus you can register it for the lifetime warranty if done quickly.

Well I am buying the small stuff as I go, already have some parts gathered. Have some other stuff to get rid of that will help with the expense of the more costly items. It is just a matter of selling those items.

Then of course the mods, which I always seem to try and out do myself, and the Coolermaster Case mod competition is happening again this year, so it all HAS TO BE DONE by Sept. 20th

So that gives me about 2 months to get it all finished. :good:

Need to get you in sub-zero land as once you go there you won't want anything else.

I am actually really happy with setting up some crazy air cooling, and maybe the induction of some cold air to help. But I like the ease of it.

I know I will never be the top dog, but that's ok with me. cool2cool2

He would have to nail that little sucker down to keep it from blowing away.

They only take ATX boards, so forget a good EATX going on there :( Course, you'd have to chop the top half off anyway to have good board access lol
