I know they make fan blocks that have three fans in one unit, but what if you have three LED fans and need to connect them to one header? I've seen the "Y" splitters that will let you connect two fans but I have three. My question is do they make a 3-way splitter and would one MB header even hanle three fans?

The reason I ask is my CM Cosmos S case has mounting holes in the top for up to three fans and I would like to put some up there, but I don't have that many headers left on the board.

You should really try and avoid using motherboard headers for case fans, when I wired my fans for my external radiator I just made the harness and hardwired them all for 5v. You can buy those parts and pieces to make harnesses from Sidewinder computers or Performance PC's.

That'll work for you. Like Hellcamino says, stay away from using motherboard fan headers as these are always a source of motherboard failure. I burned out one of my motherboards just from pluggin a fan into the onboard fan header.

Seems kinda stupid but the fan headers are a weak spot on the motherboard designs.

Now all I have to do is find a place to mount that thing and a way to extend the wires on the fans to reach it if need be.... I'm starting to get a headache LMAO!

and so the crazyness continues. I bought a kit a-while back, think it was from performance-pc . Had a bunch of fan header extensions and stuff in it along with splitters and stuff.

I agree, stay away from the mobo headers and use the psu instead or a fan controller that is hooked to the psu.

I've seen a build log where somebody used that for their rad fans. I never did see them post anything about how they liked them though.

It is on the way and should be here just in time for me to finish my new rig. I'll definately post up about how it works out and ease of installation. Not sure exactly how it mounts but I have plenty of room and spots to put it somewhere in there.

Be sure to post up some nice pics ;)

Double sided tape should keep it in place wherever u choose to mount it.

I will have some pics for sure.... Not sure how the thing mounts, it may have the tape on it already.

Hey guy's... out of town til Wed, but the thing came in right before I left and I was able to get the rig together and running just before leaving. It works great for the fans and came with a strip of doublestick tape on the back of it for mounting. So it can go anywhere you want it to.
