I love it. Firefox 3.5 was just released and got a face lift as well.
Mozilla Firefox 3.5 Released
Mozilla today announced the newest stable version of Firefox, version 3.5, which has been available in various developer preview forms for months. The new version is a milestone release, unlike timely updates that Firefox receives on a near-monthly basis, and boasts of better performance. For instance, Firefox 3.5 outperforms its previous version (Firefox 3) by over 100% in the SunSpider benchmark.
Under the hood, this new version extends support for HTML5 audio and video elements, including native support for open-source formats such as Ogg Theora. It uses a faster TraceMonkey Javascript engine (which is behind the performance boost in SunSpider), It supports downloadable fonts, CSS media queries, new transformations and properties, JavaScript query selectors, HTML5 local storage and offline application storage, canvas-driven text, ICC profiles, and SVG transformations. The user interface remains fairly identical to its predecessor, except for a few minor changes. The browser finally supports a private browsing feature which MSIE 8 (InPrivate) and Google Chrome (Incognito mode) have. Existing users of Firefox will be prompted to upgrade to the new browser. Others can find it here.

More UI transparency, eye candy
Today, the Mozilla development team decided to give another open preview into the future of its highly embraced Firefox browser. Last week, it gave an open preview of upcoming Firefox 3.7 and the various UI design aspects it has embraced. The team is now giving us an inside look at some early brainstorm designs in Firefox 4.0.
At first sight, it seems as if the team is taking some design wins from Google Chrome by implementing more UI transparency in the tab bar as well as two positioning options. Tabs can either be positioned below the address bar as they are now, or they can be placed above it similar to Chrome. According to the development blog, the “tabs-on-top” concept effectively saves vertical space, requires shorter distance to page mouse controls and removes visual complexity as the tabs usually have to be connected to the rest of the window.

Unfortunately, the drawbacks with this Chrome-like design is that it breaks user familiarity with the classic Firefox layout and some pixel space is lost between the application icon and window widgets.

The Mozilla team is also working on a combo Stop/Refresh/Go button that will be implemented sooner in Firefox 3.7 and includes a few new features. The idea behind this is that it saves application pixel space by integrating all three actions into a single button. For the visually-oriented type who enjoy eye candy, the button changes colors based on the user’s actions. For instance, typing will turn the button green with a “Go” while webpage loading will turn it into a red "Stop".

These are all very user-friendly brainstorming ideas and we are pleased that the Mozilla team is maintaining its open frame of mind as usual. However, there is still no solid news regarding any engine-specific features or internal improvements.

Yeppers. They made reference in the write-up. Looks good to me. I wonder what it would look like in XP as I am sure it won't due the transparency?
One more fun here.By far the best browser....
I can't even remember how many time my pc crashed cue to unstable oc and all my work on the web was stored by FF

FX is great. Not the greatest, but better than... previous version of Fx to be sure!

I would love to use Fx
Just wish it would do it all out of the box.
Weird that Opera can incorporate adblocking OOB, just by right clicking ads you do not want to see. Or DLing a little file (completely readable, that blocks a ton of sites.. not some unknown "extension" a freaking file you can open with notepad and see exactly what it does...ather what sites it blocks, so if per chance it caused problems.. its all text english, you can fix it yourself. It is so simple.
Bah.
Whatever. I am glad that so many people do not use Opera. I have visited a plethora of sites that AV software has said were dangerous. I run Opera and damn. No LMHOSTs hijacks, no keyloggers, no unwanted network traffic... whats up?
I have actually given up running AV software. (I admit I am a bit of a safe surfer, but cant predict those safe sites that are dangerous.. than again I used to surf myspace without AV and if you cant ask for a bigger whore target...
*sigh.. yah know, I am sick of all this glam..
I dunno the thing s you can do with Opera are crazy.
Like say text mode. Can you do that with 2 clicks in Fx? Or do you need an extension?
What about mail?
What about mouse gestures?
What about VOICE commands (separate DL about 10mb)
What about, shit, I hate seeing images on the site... and want everything formatted correctly but no images.. click click
Sorry man, I do not doubt Fx is favorite... among alternatives to IE (IE is favorite hands down)
I am glad that FX is favored and pretends to be IE so well. As last year Fx was the most exploited browser ;) Even beat IE and Safari ;)
Well I will say this, just because n00bs never learn and want what they want. Fx was the most secure browser last year ;) 4 times more secure apparently. According to Securia lol
Oops
I am sure if noobs used Opera they would be four times more secure too (oh except then I would not be lying teehee)
Good notes m8 . I can say that firefox has most of the abilities that you want ! :D
Image Blocking WITHOUT extension = Go To Tools>Page Info > Permission > Block Images From that site .
even you can block every image you like ! for example you're seeing this thread you want to see overclockaholics forum images but don't want to see HWBOT images . so ! you can block images from HWBOT and see overclockingaholics forum images . it's more flexible .
about ad blocking firefox wouldn't show pop-up ads but about for example forum ads or ... you can use powerful extension called " ad block " it's so powerful in blocking with many features and options .
about mouse gestures i have to say firefox has so many extensions with many options for commands and ... . you try it and see which one is better . opera mouse gesture or firefox extension one ?
but unfortunately firefox don't have any voice command . :D

Thanks for the fast response.
I deleted my post, because it was not in line with Fx fan club. So you quote seems out of place to others, I let them know I said what he quoted, I think?)
BTW not to criticize or nothing, but if you want to start a rebellion, you need to have a cohessive unit.
First of all
It is Firefox not firefox, and such why maybe confusion occurs. Precisely why it is Fx not Ff FF or FX, just Fx. FF means a lot of things, FX means special effects. Fx means only one thing , you favorite browser. Which really should be O
Cause lets face it.
Opera has ways to extend it capabilities too. It is not like it is without extensions as it were. Opera things are cut in paste instead of installable though, is that the difference?

it's not so hard my friend , you could tell one the moderators to move our posts to which browser you use most .
it's the difference between an open source software and closed source software . open source software like FireFox (!) has thousands of developer in the world in many places because anybody can edit the core and ... or make a extension for it . but opera mostly could develop by it's employees .
