Every forum has to have a how do you do.
Granted this forum is starting out with a lot of names I personally recognize, but not everyone may know. Please take the time to introduce yourself, list your accomplishments (personal, professional or record breaking ;) )
List your nom de guerre, you common name if you like. Something about yourself, and what you like to do (overclocking is obvious :p)

Hobbies include, a junkies addiction to price/performance HW, latest and greatest SW, and running bench tests without hindering my rig in anyway (I bench production rigs... if I will not disable audio or LAN or anything to get more points. If I can not run it desktop, I will not bench it. well I will clarify "bench settings" which means not 24/7.. I have disabled Aero before to get an extra 50? points...) I am just not that addicted yet I guess
Benchmarks, I cant compare to the pros here. Best is 13.2K in vantage all air cooling and it happen recently despite the heat (I air cool)

Real name: Bill
Profession:
Working 10 years at Lawence Livermore Lab in Livermore CA I thought I was a Mechanical Engineer in Weapons Test Division but later moved to Military Applications with the Directors of the Lab doing presentations for the Big Guys. Then moved into the Tech Art Department.
Later in life I became a Graphic Artist if the Flexo Printing Industry doing food & automotive labels. I do have my Herbalife business still going which I did pretty darn well at for a few years, in fact it funded just about all of my hardware. Now I am not sure what I am LOL.
Hobbies:
Well I am here and this is my major hobby :) however I do like to game also. I have played just about all online games from SWG, Anarchy, DAoC, WoW etc. DAoC was great fun for awhile and had a pretty good guild at the time. Pre-NGE SWG I really liked.
Jumpgate was my first online game. Played WoW for far to long, I do think it is one of the best online RPG's out there. But now I have gotten back to the old board games that have made there way to the computer, some I played when very young before computers. I am really likeing this one right now, Commander - Europe at War
Benchmarks:
As I am GPU poor atm I pretty much only do CPU benches. Keeping with with all aspec's of hardware at the same time is just to darn costly for me anymore.
Current HW:
Main rig is EVGA X58 MB with 12gigs RAM, Core I7 920, 8x MTRON PRO SSD's on a ARC-1231ML in Raid 0. 6x HD's for a total of about 4TB's of storage. 2x 9800gx2's for Quad SLI and other stuff :) I need to get the Jinu Cooling tower connected back up to the main rig also, I was using it for benching but the MonstaCade has taken it's place so it's back to the main rig and 24/7 use.
Prefered SW:
I am running Windows 7 atm and made the complete switch over. Ultimate Office Suite, Expression Studio, Adobe products and a whole lot of other stuff :)
About:
I have been spending a lot of time the last few days trying to get my bench area all cleaned up, combined the office and bench area into one room which is getting a bit out of hand LOL.
My favorvite place is Bodaga Bay above SF which I get over to every chance I can. I love the small laid back fishing village type settings. I can picture my benching room with a window over looking the bay and ocean.
I have pretty much full setups for all types of extreme cooling, from SS Phase's, LN2 pots and Dewar and the new addition of the MonstaCade which I cannot begin to tell you how sweet it is to be able to run at -110c and not pour any LN2. LN2 will now be pretty much used for GPU's unless a chip warrents going colder than the MonstaCade can do. I do not have that many GPU's and nothing really new so LN2 will not be used all that much anymore. I do have a full Dewar atm and my Taylor Wharton 50L holds it for a very longt time.
Naturally I aspire to be a top bencher and going down that long hard road to be noticed and get ranked up there on top. I have been in only one major event and that was the Gigabyte GOOC 09 in LA where I think this old fart did pretty well for a first timer in the mix with some of the best over clockers in the US. I didn't want to show up all these young pups there to bad LOL :)
Generally speaking tho I am a pretty laid back type and just enjoy pushing hardware for fun, and where ever that leads me to is ok with me :)
There are many good friends I have made over time in this sport, and hopefully many more to make !
As you can see by the pic I still have more work to do on the benching room, but it's a start :)

And I still need to pick your brain on this finicky board. This 975 doesn't play nice on ear. I need to get the dewar filled but it will be a few weeks. I did manage to get a 205 bclk but it was definately not even close to stable. Forgot to save the dump file also.

One of the main reasons I have to have dual monitors on my rig, and probabl why I suck at games. I always have a something running on my second monitor while I game. :)

Occupation: Protector of humans
Hobbys: Hosting an Overclocking Community -----> Overclocking Computer Components --> Being a good father
Tech History: In the year of our father 2004, I was at work digging thru some old filing cabinets and found a box containing Unreal Tournament 99. I loaded it up on the "then unsecured" work computer. It was pretty kick-arse and I endeavored to spend as much time in the office as possible :D At the time I had no hardware knowledge and miniscule software knowledge but this was enough to spark my interests.
2005, scraped some money together for a gaming laptop from the Dell Refurb Department and picked up a 04 Dell Inspiron XPS 8100. I then picked up Age of Empires. Later picked up AOE II, then Age of Mythology, and spent alot of time competing online.
2006, I ran across UT2004, picked it up, installed and went bonkers with UT2004. 06 I saved a bunch of scratch and picked up my first tower, a fully loaded cutting edge Falcon Northwest Mach IV, system specs:
Evga 680i
QX6700
4gb 1142mhz Corsair 5-5-5-15-2T
2 150gb Raptors
2 750gb Seagates
X-Fi Plantium Extreme Gamer
PlexorDvd etc.
Plexor B-ray r/rw
2 8800 GTX's
30" Apple Monitor
I owned on UT2004 and met up with a now close friend, Marek, we got to putting together a clan and a website: www.x-cade.com (http://www.x-cade.com) . Marek learned me the ways of the web. Clan competitions got stiff, I wanted more performance and I had a rig to learn about. Thus began my affair with overclocking. Spent some time at EVGA and met up with Steve a.k.a. Spfoam1, an awnry bastard with a passion for competition.
Roll in 2008, its time to find out what I'm made of and build my first bad-arse rig including water cooling. Born was the Superman Build:
http://www.x-cade.com/uploads/Supes/Superman/DoomsDaySuperman%20002%20(Large).jpg
Spent some time at 411 and things started out great but eventually some drama took hold and things went sour. So a few of us started out on a new forum, unfortunately the dude we paired up with was born on total drama island and bad holes in his teeth from lying so much. That failed so battered and bruised the loyal few that remained began a new here at our final resting place www.overclockaholics.com (http://www.overclockaholics.com) where we shall remain till apocolypse-net occurs.
In rolls the future of Overclockaholics...................... Bringing Overclockers together one thread at a time :D

About - I have been into computers since 1997 and really didn't start to get into them until 2002. But unfortuantaly growing up in a cop family, I rebelled like a preacher kid and had a brush in with the law that sent me up state for four years. During that time I read about computers, enough to keep me in the loop. Got out, landed on my feet and hit the computer scene like I never missed a beat. I am involed in helping others with a drug addiction problem now. I have a few certifications; A+, Network+, CIW. My plans are to start a small PC business one day. Pretty much building and reparing of PC's.

Me:
I am a 46yr old father of 5 living in Tucson, AZ. I am happily married to my second wife, going on 10 years. She travels internationally quite a bit, thus "when the wifes away, all bot, no play".
My kids are mostly great, lol, the two oldest boys (25) are identical twins and are adopted. They are both handicapped, but Alex (the one remaining) is doing very well. I recently built him a very nice rig which some of you have heard about from time to time.
My next three are from my first marriage, two boys (17, 15) and my baby girl (12). Ironically she takes the most interest in the "family business". They are with me at least half of every week, so I get to be a dad fairly often. My 17yr old son is totally being a pain atm, due to his mom's inability to discipline him....sorry tmi.
Business has been great for the last decade or so leading up to the crash the last couple of years....I do what I can to stay busy and try to remain optimistic for the future.
Computer background:
I began building gaming rigs and overclocking them 3 years ago. I purchased a Dell xps 700 and was not at all impressed with it's performance. I proceeded to upgrade everything (cpu e6300 to a qx6700 and ultimately a qx6850, ram from dell 667 to mushkin 1066 4gb, psu dell 750 to dell 1kw, gpu dell 7950gx2 to evga 8800gt akimbo sli, hdd dell/wd 320gb to dual 160gb wd raptors in raid 0, and stock cpu cooler to the h2c liquid cooler). I managed to overclock the quad to 3.85GHz stable and achieve a 3dmark06 score of almost 21k, at the time one of the top two dells in the world. I still was not impressed as Crysis still was not playable at 19x12. A month later I sold the rig on ebay for over three grand.
It was time to build the Warbird. She started with the same case, psu and opd's that she sport currently. The 790i was her first mobo along with the 98gtx's which were the best at the time. Then came the step up to gtx 280's, then tri, then craploads of wc'n, and eventually i7. I have got to tell you that most of it has been EVGA and they have been very good to me over the years.
My PC Expectations and Accomplishments:
My proudest pc moments are the ones I share with my brothers over at NBOC, in both our forum as well as our team. I am the official HWBot Coach for our team, and welcome and assist our newest teammembers as much as possible. They are always good oc'ers, we just strive to make them better. It has been an amazing ride thus-far, and seems to be just beginning.
I can't help but feel that OCA is alot like home, as this place has the same caliber people, great organization, and a familiar sense of humor. I look foward to alot of laughs and comeradery here, as well as NBOC, in the future.

This thread is shaping up to be a mash up of some very cool ocer's and people. We've definitely got personality here and I know that not everyone has intro'd themselves yet. I hope we stick things out here for a very long time.
If we never get another like-minded soul here again, I'll be content with the bunch of cretans we have so far.

Hi All,
My name is Madhusudan Banik, from India where sub-zero overclocking hasnt caught up yet, hardware parts are sometimes double of what you get in US but still a few enthusiast like me do keep the spirit of benching alive.....On most of the forums I am just a leecher, :p, apart from Erodov.com (where I am a mod) and hopefully on this one too. This looks to be a cool place to hang out, hopefully the journey would be long lasting.....

Whatup..... I be Afterburner..... I like long nights of BIOS slapping. The smell of morning dew on my undershorts (Or is that sweat?) The feeling of a magical run that I could never duplicate in a hundred years. And the warm scoldings from a loving wife that thinks I am two builds away from the loony bin!
I am looking for a few good people to teach me the errors of my ways and to take me to the promise lands of 6GHz on air.... 24/7 Biatches! With no more than 1.3Vs of power....
Or at least 5Ghz 24/7 on water with whatever dang v's it needs!!! MUHAhahahahaha:green7::wtf::cheers:sign10
I am canadian. I am a noob to overclocking, but I read about it so much. My favorite bench is probably 3d06.
i'll confirm this Canuck is a rookie...good to see another northern dweller and familiar face here :D
my name is Jody, and i am an overclockaholic. i have gone 24 minutes without actively overclocking something. it usually doesn't go longer than that. i generally have 2-3 bench systems running at a time for most of the day and the main focus of my obsession is SPi 32M. with that comes a dedicated obsession with memory.
i am not here to get help with my problem, i am here to encourage it. perhaps these meetings don't have the same purpose in mind like the others i attend

Hello everybody, George here. I'm posting a lot in Xtremesystems and hwbox.gr, hopefully here too ;)
My buddy crio told me that you got a nice forum here and I feel the need to say congratulations to all of you, I found lots of great stuff while searching overclockaholics a couple hours ago. I bench mostly on air ( I prefer the tweaking side of benchmarking, Goddy can for sure explain :D ) and whenever I can on SingleStage or dry ice. At the moment though, only on air. Again, glad I'm here.
P.S. w00t dinos and Jody here too ? to_keep_order Fantastic :taunt:

Hey welcome Freeagent.
I have known this guy for years, and it is because of him that I have gotten so into Overclocking. (We have had a great little rivalry over the last 6 or years). He is not quite the HW junkie I am but he is great and getting everything out of a setup that he can. (I suppose half the reason I am a HW junkie is trying to keep up with him)

Nix, jrabb1920 was my army call sign, so I use it on all site that I join.
I'm also a Mod at blazingpc, Hit and Run made a reference of this site so I had to check it out.
I'm a retired Army Helo pilot, now I'm managing a R.V.Park in Spokane, Washington. I have been playing with computer since the old Intel 8088 days we made ours from scratch back then.
I do some benching when I have the time, I'm into folding, about three years ago had a folding farm with 60+ rigs. but that's a whole story on its own.
Present rig is
Q9650 @ 4.4ghz
Rampage formula
4x1gig OCZ reapers 5 5 5 15
Custom water cooling
GTX 260
Antec 650
Right now I've been trying out this windows 7

What's up guys?
First off, I'm a moderator at Classicplatforms and go by the same username there. I also go by the username Dr. McCoy over at EOCF.
As to OC'ing, it's really a hobby I've picked up over the last few years and like everyone else, I'm still learning. Started off with Socket A's and I've been going eversince.
As for my rig, well I have several here in various stages of assembly/disassembly since I'm always tweaking them, trying new things to see what I can get them to do and the like - You guys know how it is, it never runs fast enough.
Current build in progress is as follows - Just ordered these parts yesterday as of this post:
AM3 X3 720 BE
MSI 790FX-GD70
OCZ DDR3 2000/PC16000 Platinum RAM (2x1GB)
Of course improvements to the system will follow as I can do them... Well that is when I'm not too busy benching to do them. :D

Hello everybody here at OCA !!
My name is Jesse, hailing from Alberta, Canada.
(Whoa, this is kinda reminiscent of an AA meeting I attended years back. I left
when I discovered there weren't any chicks there who wanted to hit the bar afterwards.)
Another nic I use is 69_GTO_Judge at various forums including EOCF, Club NBOC, XS,
EVGA, Asus, Club OC, and others.
I am currently owner/operator of Pace Manufacuring, a machine shop
building specialty tooling for the oil and gas industry. The equipment includes
a pair of 4-axis CNC milling machines, which come in pretty handy when I want to
build cooling parts for my rig.
My hobbies include muscle cars (primarly GTO's), drag racing, camping and packing on
horseback into the mountains, and, of course, anything to do with PC's. I am totally
obsessed with OC'ing, benching, tweaking, and modding all the hardware I can get my
little grubbers on. I have to restrain myself from tweaking the controllers on the CNC's.
My current rig consists of:
- Antec 1200
- i7-920 CO
- P6T Deluxe X58
- 6GB Viper 12800 @ 8-8-8-20
- 2x Sapphire HD 4870X2
- 2x Hitachi 1 TB Raid0
- Sony BD + Pioneer DVD
- Ultra X3 1600
- Custom GTO X-Flow CPU WB
- 7 x64, Vista x64, XP SP3 Triple Boot
I'm pretty sure I have voided the warranty on most of these components.
Project in the works (wish list):
- Custom built torture rack
- EVGA Classified
- i7-920 DO and/or i7-975EE
- Corsair Dom 16000
- various GPU combinations
- multiple OCZ Vertex SSD's Raid0
- better PSU
- more custom cooling products
I will start a build log soon.
I have found Overclockaholics to be the most open and helpful forums anywhere on the net.
Great information, members, and atmosphere. A big congrats to all the owners and admins for
putting together such a terrific place. I look forward to spending a lot of my time here.

Um is just a preposition to a guess as to how old it really is. Carbon dating put this processor in the paleoperformic era.

Hello everyone, I'm David from Miami Florida. I am 22 years of age at the moment, been into PC's since I'm about 14 or 15, but started to build them at the age of 17 or so. Little by little I got into overclocking and not only building, but modding PC's and here I am. Just can't get enough of it. I go by the name of "Chicken Patty" hence the username. My home forum is Tech Power Up, if some of you are over there, you'll know I'm pretty popular, got over 8k posts, so that'll tell you enough.
My hobbies are computers, cars, and aviation. I drive a 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD, got a few mods, nothing major. As far as aviation, I'm a huge BOEING fan and I love to go spotting at my local airport Miami International (KMIA for all you aviation freaks). Other than that don't know what to say.
I got two rigs, one is the main rig (cruncher), and the 2nd one is just a cruncher, below you'll find the stats of my main rig :)
Core i7 920
EVGA X58 Motherboard
Nanya 6GB (3 x 2GB)
PNY 9800GX2
PCP&C 860W PSU

I have already came across a few and I'm enjoying my stay already :D
I am on stock cooling as of yesterday, took apart the i7 rig to inspect a few components, but everything is fine. I am going to wait a few and order some new BP Compression Fittings to redo the loop before putting it back in a case.
Check out my thread, this will give you an idea of what components I have, below is the latest pic of the rig before it was taken apart and after I took it apart. The res you saw in the log and the res in the pic are different, I traded the EK 250 for a EK 150

Benchmarks: my fav of all time has to be 3DMark06
I can tell you by heart where FPS will drop, and I love the third 3D bench where the dragon jumps out of the water and trys to swallow the airship (also the highest point for FPS through the entire benchtest. ;)
I remember one night, on a forum not so far away, me and the big guys, Soups and Foamer, having a little benching night so to speak, through a thread. We were pushing our rigs respectively, definitely a night that one day may go down in OC'ing history :Hi:
Current HW:
Evga x58 LE
i7 920
2x GTX275
150gb raptor
HX1000
Cosmos 1000
case custom modded, and I must say my best work to date. It's funny when we create something or achieve something that makes us sit back and just stare. I am in awe fellas, and lady :Hi:
Prefered SW: WIN XP of course, should be installing WIN 7 shortly and from what I hear, should be a new fav for me.
About me: Well back in 94 me and my sister's ex husband built my first computer. I then bought 2, and forgot what a joy was building them. Got back into it around the release of Evga's 680i, built me a little system that could, and modded the hell out of what started life as one ugly case.
It became the Superman case, and kind of got me some attention.
Here she is:
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b51/marcam923/Computer/DSC01196.jpg
That is when the modding with purpose began. I love working with my hands, and took a little $40 case, that I bought when I knew nothing of manufacturer's and made it into something that looked good, but most of my mods were to increase airflow, hence performance.
Well I am at it again, and have just finished something that I think alot of you will like. Let's see if Soups can figure out the hidden meaning behind the project name - Krypto
When I put a name to something I like to tie the entire mod together, if it does not all flow, it just does not fit. Check out my thread in member's rigs for a full final explaination after final pictures are posted, here is a teaser.

Two out of my three rigs are in cases because I had them and didnt just wanna have them there for no reason. However they are dedicated crunchers and I don't tinker with them at all. but my i7 who is a 24/7 cruncher/bench rig/ and daily rig I have that on a tech station, it's much more convenient to swap out hardware and mess around with it how I always am.
For example, I just got my Megashadow cooler today. on the tech station, unplug anything going to the board, and the board is out within the first minute. Beat that!! :)

My board is sitting on top of the box it came in. I'm working on my bench station.
I found a couple pieces of 1/2" polycarbonite 13" x 19" (they were way in the back of a storeroom at the machine shop here). Pefect size for a tech bench. Just have to figure out where I want to locate everything.

Yes it is true that the gasses and flames that come out of my front end are repulsive and can create different stages of damage depending on where when and how I choose to release them.
But the rear......................well now.....................that's a different story altogether. There is no defense either real or imagined that can contain my natural urges from the behind. You see, I am nuclear.
You can always tell who my friends are, they always stand next to me, never in front, and never ever behind me.

Hello everyone.
Name: Kristoffer Sandnes
Age: 19. Twenty this summer.
Country: Norway
Vehicle: Suzuki GSX-R 600 K2 125HP
Relationship: Yes, with my Girlfriend Charlotte
Nick: Kriztoffer all the way.
Profession: Nothing special
Hobbies: Hunting, Pointing Dogs, Irish Setter, Fishing, Motorcycle, Party and ofc Overclocking.
Benchmarks: Vantage,06, SuperPi and Wprime.
Current Hardware: Kingpin F1 EE, Classified E760, 920 D0, Dominator GT 2000Mhz CL8, 5870, Corsair Hx1000, Asus Commando, a lot of 775 chips, OCZ Flex, TFC Monsta, MCP355 w/XSPC Top, Stinger V8 custom waterblock, TRUE (Lapped), XFX 9500GT, ++
There are a little fellow that means everything for me..My dog Copper, he's a Irish Setter. I've been hunting willow Grouse since I was 12 years old. Copper is now 13 months old, he's my first dog. Trained and owned by me. I've always been a boy who loved the nature since I was a kid. I spend a lot of time in the mountain with my dog and friends. Going on camp trips far into mountains for fishing or hunting..

At the moment I'm working, I started a PC related study this autumn but the school sucked so much that I quite and went back to my old work.. This was a study that was going to learn you about servers and stuff....they keep learning me how to use EXCEL all the time...and the teachers was retarded.
One of my other addictions are motorcycles, I don't have the license for car lol:D
At the moment I have a Suzuki GSX-R 600 K2, I love the quick acceleration and speed. Deleterious, but I freaking love it.
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/3315/bilde036.th.jpg (http://img268.imageshack.us/i/bilde036.jpg/)http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/5443/dsc00133kn.th.jpg (http://img268.imageshack.us/i/dsc00133kn.jpg/)
How did all this started? I was looking at watercooled antec's about a year ago.. I bought myself a x58 setup, kind of shitty. But this trigged everything.
After I got rid of that Gigabyte board I went with a Bloodrage from Foxconn, love of my life. But the board stopped at 222BCLK, man I can't use that shit:p So we went for a Classified and I won't look back. The Classy is a real monster.
I got my first Kingpin F1 pot this summer, only tried it once with DICE. But I will go for a run this weekend again, I don't have to much money so I can't bench all the time.
GF gave me that sweater...:ohcrap:
