This might be interesting. The Impact is a super board. I'm thinking the Z97 chipset might break some 4340 records i've been working at. Price is right.

Nice,
They added Killer NIC and a high end audio chip.
Guess the price of admission is going up.......... :ohcrap:
Wonder why they would do this to an overclocking board? seems like this would be more at home with their Fata1ty line of gaming boards
Splave

killer NIC is cheaper than intel :D
also it will have full coating, for condensation again
$220USD is target price
UEFI is in full HD @ 16:9 looking nicer than last time.
Best part is no hanging at A3 and 9D for 15 seconds sometimes like z87 mannnn that was bugging me.

220 For the full board or the mATX
thinking I will grab the z97m if it is as capable as the z87m
I would have thought Killer to be expensive

Yea I'm thinking about the Mini ITX or the one micro atx that can support DDR3 3200mhz. Mostly the mini.

I like the mATX for price and you can run SLI/XFire on them
that Impact looks wicked but would have to make a new benching board

Just thinkng out loud here:
I have to agree the price on these boards look good but wondering about the price on the new Devil's Canyon chips to come. The prices on what's currently available for 1150 aren't too bad but I'm wondering what the price would be for the new pieces once released.
Too bad I'm on the skids related to any hardware purchases for sometime to come and I mean for sometime - Hospital bills are killing any and all hopes of getting new toys and until I can get those paid off, it's "Lather - Rinse - Repeat" for me.
Would they be worth it vs what's available now based on useage?
I know for the bot you gotta get one of the new chips when they come out, that's a given if you want to keep scoring boints instead of regrinding the older stuff you already have. Besides it's always fun to try and figure out the new ones anyway.
Witchy knows I did manage to pick up an 1155 setup not too long ago but haven't had time to do a proper setup with it yet plus I'm still learning what translates into what from an AMD to an Intel BIOS. Slowly getting the hang of it and like anything else it's another learning experience for me.
@ Witchy:
Hopefully before long I'll find out if the Sandy can really do it or not and I'll probrably be one lucky SOB if it does considering how I got it.

Once you see what these chips can do for your 3D stuff it will be lights off.
AMD is cool stuff and lots of fun I am sure, but you have to be competing with in the hardware. Globals are tough other than CPUz as their new chips are in the 8+ GHz range if memory serves me.
Once you get it hooked up try some cards you have benched on AMD platforms and you will see what I am saying :)
The new DC chips should retail for around $ 350.00 is what I am thinking, but MC will have them under $ 300.00 is what I am thinking, June 2nd is what I have read for a release.
Sucks about the hospital bills bro, it is insane what they charge for stuff. The good news is you came through it, make sure you are taking care of yourself bro, this shit is fun but it is not important, your health is paramount

I hear ya bro!
That's the priority here, trying to simply keep going. Benching is one of the things I do to unwind and although I haven't done much since my heart attack, I've been able to crank things up a few times. Nothing exotic but good enough to get a few golds and boints too. Right now I'm sticking to a routine of work and rest with little in between except when I feel like it. I did finish rebuilding one of my pots and one of these days I'll have a chance to test it and see if the work pays off or not. Had to modify it to fit on my 1155, also fits everything else I have (Everything AMD I have and my 775 setup) so I'm good there. :D
Hmmm.... Sounds like Devil's Canyon might not be the shiznit like some are making it out to be - I'll take your word over anything I've seen elsewhere Splave.

:) like 1.4v for x46 stable

They might improve the chip before long and can only hope that happens for those buying these to upgrade from what they have currently.
That's alot of voltage for an Intel to reach 4.6 stable. :Dizzy:

I am a little out of the loop but VCore setting is not what it used to be. IIRC
When I was brushing up on Haswell, I thought that vcore adjusts the voltage to the ondie voltage regulator not the Chip itself.
Splave

neuro there is vccin voltage that does that, then there is vcore seperate

yea my Devils Canyon chips are meh..
This could be the reason they are talking pushing back release.
The chips are ok fro gamer/mild OC but pushing limit is fail...

Speaking of rusty. My Abit comment was in refernce to the Fatal!ty series of motherboards.
Someone brought that up... (Abit was the company with the Fatal!ty motherboards. Ironically, many a chip died on them and so did the company).
