I know its easy to do, under normal conditions............... I have a not so normal condition.
I have a 680 board(got it cheap), the pins on the CPU looked fine but the board was bought with a no boot condition. Upon closer inspection, I found thermal paste(conductive) on several pins in the CPU socket. So my question is this, how do I dissolve it without touching the CPU pins? I can see the stuff is down around the pin bottoms where the pins are seated.
I want to totally dissolve the stuff, I have no issue washing the board after wards I have done that many times without any issue's. Right now I'm soaking the socket with 90% alcohol, but I don't think it will totally remove the conductive stuff around the pins base.
Best Ideal I have had is to use nail polish remover, let it soak in, Rinse and spit :scared:
