Which thermal interface compound is best for extreme overclocking. Seems to change from time to time so I'm curious which is the currently preferred.

Nice Poll.....

OCZ Frezze and Gelid GC Xtreme have same source in product. OCZ freeze have 2 version old and new version..if we get old version that better than last version.

Wonder if that' related to the cap color on the Freeze ? First batch we got had clear caps, second batch had blue caps and the TIM seemed a little less liquid .. or would that be more solid??

the first version can get it.

will send email how much tubes he has in stock (sponsor) and get me some of the old ones with white cap on it.

How about this one with diamond pouder in it?
Does anybody know how this performs ?

I've never used that brand, but I do have some diamond TIM in a syringe that I've only used on WC so far. Scratches the shit out of your IHS so I haven't used much

Last order of OCZ Freeze was with Tiger Direct and it's blue caps.

Curious if any users of GelID use the little spreader paddle included with the TIM.

IC Diamond is really good stuff tbh but its a bitch to remove and you can lap your CPU with it.

the EVGA stuff is rebranded stuff from hong kong... sucks for air/water but good for LN2 transfer.... just be very careful.... you get it on your CPU and your CPU is dead simple as that....

also get it on you and its a bitch to get off.

very high silver content so its capacitive so be careful fellas...

back in the days i did a little thermal benches, and liquid metal is by far the best for high end use both water and air, never got around to test it on TEC or extreme cooling, but what it dose it fills all the micro gaps on the chip with it self and adds a VERY thin layer of it

if you get that you may also wanna get a set of the thermal removal or if you want to make a quick and dirty get a little bottle of GooGone it removes thermal stuff like crazy

trying to look up what that evga stuff is but everytime i try to get on that site today it crashes

i just looked at the EVGA stuff, dose that stuff look alot like the OCZ Freeze?
i have both OCZ Freeze the old blueish and the new ones
CGXtreme is pretty good for sub zero
and use ocz with just 1366

if you got the rig set for LN2, the cpu socket s/b pretty well sealed, would there still be a concern? Might not use on a GPU pot though :P

that vs liquid metal which one is more silver?
cuz i think liquid metal is almost pure silver or something like that IT IS FREAKING AMAZING!

btw i been looking around cuz you know

and i been looking around and found those two on ebay just wondering what the hell

1. http://www.ebay.com/itm/30g-Thermal-Grease-Paste-CPU-Heatsink-Compound-Gold-/110729698708?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c8011d94
i have seen this one used on one of my friend's prebuild systems didn't know it till he got it all off

2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/110729701873?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

any one tried those two before?

Well, it's good to know they are both tasteless

The silver one is 10% silver, IIRC the EVGA is 30%
The gold one has metal oxides - no gold

ive used the homight TIM which evga rebranded, its decent so I thought until I tried the Gelid stuff. OCZ and homight got me to 1250mhz each, multiple mounts varying pressures and amount, first time I use the gelid, boom 1500s lol it was stupid good
