What those RAT BASTARDS did ten years ago today.
Never forget they killed close to 3,000 of our countrymen in the name of their religion
Never forget they are STILL hoping to kill millions more of us !!
Never forget those who died
Say a prayer that this will never happen again

IMO, nobody should be replaying, or keep playing, that coverage. Don't you think people have suffered enough without having to watch it over and over again? Let it go. Nobody will forget. Nobody forgets Pearl Harbor, right?, and they don't keep playing that over and over again. Not to mention, why are we giving the enemy the pleasure of seeing it again. It's just not right.

I worked at United Airlines at the time and heard on the way to work that a small private plane had hit one of the towers. In the parking lot someone told me there were two planes and they were both 767s, a far cry from a Cessna. I knew then it was terrorism.
It was one of our planes that hit one of the towers, and one of our planes that went down in Pennsylvania. We sat around a radio all day and listen to in unfold. A flight attendant I was dating at the time called me when the first tower went down.
We were all in shock.
Had I been president, a tactical nuke (a small one) would have detonated over a remote mountaneous area of Afganistan - to me, that would have been the propper initialization of our reaction. Would have set a good tone for anyone contemplating trying that shit again in the future

+1 to this.
All of this was done in the name of a religion that says:
If you are not one of us, you must convert or die = You by what we say have no freewill or right to choose....
To fulfill your duties as a member of this religion you are expected to go out and kill those not of this religion while killing yourself in the process....
Your reward is to have a bunch of virgins - Nothing I'm aware of is said beyond that and it could be these "Virgins" are butt ugly or even men/butt ugly men... Who knows? :ohcrap:
The above reward is based on something physical, something that clearly doesn't apply once you're gone anyway....
It's also weird that the "God" of this religion by name was once known as an Arabian god of the moon. Historically anything related to the moon in this way has always been evil and even recent/modern references to the moon in this way are the same....
Not to mention the sheer arrogance that by doing anything related to this duty of violence related to this religion, the one doing it has done nothing wrong = No sin, no matter what who or how many are affected....
There's plenty more I could post but that should say enough on my part.
BTW I'm well aware that many of this religion are actually good people that could care less what we do over here and don't want to do harm to anyone.
Those I'm OK with, it's the "others" I place the blame on and rightfully so.
No guys, I'll never forget or the reasons behind it all.

I remember that day vividly. I was watching the news with a group of salty old WWII vets at the VA and calling my wife every half hour.
I disagree about the TV images, gentlemen. Your argument is valid, but here's mine:
It was real. It's too easy to minimalize the event and disregard the reality of 9/11. Especially for those too young to remember. In fact, I feel that's exactly what happened a few years ago when the liberal media avoided showing those images. A coddled, protected society is easily lead by a ring through the nose.

An un-protected society ruled by fear and the past is just as detrimental. I do see your point....to an extent. It's ok, we can agree to disagree on this.:)

I think each one of us remebers the lessons learned that day in our own way.
It is a shame how other countries and cultures view our country.
I think a lot of it is ignorance and probably some of it bitterness towards the US policy abroad.
The coverage of this event will be in the hisory books till the end of time, it will be played on this day till it no longer receives good ratings unfortunatly. I tiook this oppertunity to watch it with my son who was only 4 years old at the time and I must say at 14 he was devistaed by the actual footage of this as it unfolded. He said the classroom in no way gave him an understanding of how catostrophic these events were and has a new understanding of what actually happened.
For me it simply was a mad man with enough of a following to insert pain and suffering into west.
There were many before him. that are now dead as well.
For me all history tells me is there are insane individuals out there that crop up and out of every society and culture,
I am not sure where the next one will come from or where they will strike, I just know there will be another.
Not fear by any means, just humanity

I was at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station doing a Weapons offload.
First plane hit and I was on the smoke deck (special closed room, its a weapons station) and said a plane just hit one of the twin towers. I thought, wow that sucks was the pilot drunk?
Was onboard when the second hit and thought "what are the odds of that happening?... ohhhh"
The first one was not a surprise for me, I recall hearing about planes hitting skyscrapers before. (tall towers/buildings have flashing lights on them.. so planes can see them so it definitely has happened before) Never crossed my mind it was on purpose.

I don't mind news coverage but I haven't seen real "Journalism" for about 30 years now. Everything today is sensationalism and fear mongering. I could bitch about it for a few minutes but I won't. I'd give anything for some straight from the hip, call it as it happens, no bullshit, it is what it is news journalism. I rarely read the paper, watch the news, local or national, because I don't see journalism, I see social re-conditioning and hidden agenda's for corporate advance.
Down with the system. Lois where are u?

35, working on a RI at Applecroft.
I listened to the Howard Stern broadcast and was glued to it all day.
After wittnessing the NBC coverage yesterday I must say, Howard did a much better job.
Katie Curac and Tom Brokaw just totally fumbled the ball.
And their Penetagon correspondent had the persoallity of a house plant.
The worst was when the video showed the first tower colaspsing and they were saying they had unconfirmed reports .....
ahhhh open your eyes ring a bell :Dizzy:
