i am officially back to hardware mode again as in cleaning up and organizing and reorganizing all my sweet hardwares all over again before my sweet rma comes back and as up to now i found 5 extra chips i didn't even know i had in the bottom of my stash (one of them is a quad!)

and as i was just going though those chips i found a China SL7PR chip and as i was googling the the batch here is what i found

1st letter or digit = plant code

***0 = San Jose, Costa Rica
***1 = Cavite, Philippines
***3 = Costa Rica
***5 = China < i added that in
***6 = Chandler, Arizona
***7 = Philippines
***8= Leixlip, Ireland
***9 = Penang, Malaysia
***L = Malaysia
***Q = Malaysia
***R = Manila, Philippines
***Y = Leixlip, Ireland
--------------------------------------------
2nd digit = Year of production
--------------------------------------------
3rd & 4th digits = week (49th week )
--------------------------------------------
5th - 8th digits= lot number
--------------------------------------------
10th - 13th digits = serialization code
1. why is china chip not listed in that list i found? :Dizzy:
is that like the idea of ES chips? like when ever you rma a ES chip intel will ask you where did you stole that chip from lol or something like that is that the same way with china chips?

2. dose china chip overclock better than normal chils like malay and costa rica?
i mean i been reading a lot about them what not but i never gotten a confirmed answer on it..
i have two SL7PR one is China one is Malay i'll be testing it when ever i get my ram back but just for an reference ahead... anyone got any ideas?

3. also been looking at pin mods most the people are using it because the board don't support overclocking and you still wanna go faster but what about people that's got a really nice overclocking board or a overclockable motherboard already but will it help to overclock higher than just increasing the FSB?

for example:
your chip is a E6600 your FSB is 1066/266 multi is x9

266mhz x 9 = 2400mhz

-- hard mod increase 266 -> 333
so now the computer thinks the chip started out 333

333mhz x 9 = 3000mhz

--and then overclock from there to 400 vs go from 266 to 400 by FSB increasing is there any difference at all?

4. and this is kind of a fav too, i was wondering why is there no plant code number 4? and i found number 5 being china dose anyone have any chips that's also plant code 4 or 5? i was wondering if we can complete this list here?

i been told that china chip are not really the best clocking chip out there it's just certain batch that's good stuff like that, and also i was wondering i dkont know enough to speak but that is the diff between XXXAXXX chips AND XXXBXXX chips?
that's the difference between the A and B?
