Those towers went down less than 10 years ago, but the event is already minimized and downplayed. I haven't seen a video of those planes on mainstream news in well over 5 years because it's too "upsetting". I was working at a VA hospital on 9/11/01 and I'll never forget watching things unfold with a bunch of salty vets, periodically checking in with my wife on the phone. Seeing the planes crash into those buildings, seeing people jump to their deaths rather than being burned alive, hearing the cell phone conversations on flight 93 before the passengers stormed the cockpit and forced a crash landing in a field in Stonycreek, PA.

Thousands of American children, women and men were murdered that day for the simple crime of living in a free culture as infidels.

I didn't vote for Obama, and I won't vote for him next year because I don't want to live in a Socialist State. I'll bash him all day and night about his domestic Big Brother/Brave New World agenda and his bowing and scraping to foreign leaders, but he did get Bin Laden. I'll give him that.

I was pleased with the revenge until two things happened. First, Obama's speach made me vomit for most of the night. If you listen to his account of the whole thing, he took the head shot himself pretty much. Sure he gets some credit for being the sitting president when it happened, but in reality he had near zero to do with it. We owe thanks to CIA spooks and our wonderful Navy Seals!! Second, I began dry heaving again today when I find out that his body was treated with muslim honors!! WTF is that shit? Son of a bitch kills thousands. Many of which jumped to their death from 100+ stories high. He gets treated with honor? That shit just shows you how over-done the whole enlightened period is. Political correctness needs to go. Bastard's head should be on the flag pole at the white house.

As far as signifigance.... Well I think it is signifigant to the radicals in many ways. Not as signifigant if we could have done this the first year though. Will it stop the violence? Hell no. Does it ring a little bit of fear accross the radical muslim world? It sure as hell does! They lost an icon. Imagine if General Patton or in England's case, Winston Churchhill, was killed/captured during WWII. The fight would still go on but morale sure would have changed.

George, the only thing those people understand is violence. There is no reasoning with them. It is all about who can kick who's ass and that's it. It is their culture. In afganistan your manhood is judged by if you own an AK-47 or not. That is 100% true too and was a big problem when we tried dis-arming the people over there. Part 1 - At the basic level us humans are still animals. There are the strong and the weak. You have alpha males and then there is everyone else. I know that sounds harsh but it is reality.

Think socialism/communism. Sitting in a classroom and listening to a professor ramble on about all of it's glory is one thing. Actually applying it and making it work in the real world is another. That's why I say the elightened period is way overdone. We now value intellect with no real world experience, and an understanding of the "law of un-intended consequences", over good common sense. You have idealists and realist. Guess who wins in the long run?

Look at history George. Sure we have this magical thing called reason, but it doesn't always inhibit our animal instincts. You will always have people who will driven to power and/or violence.
