anyone here know what is the best way to clean vaseline off a motherboard?

i cleaned most of it off already with hair drier but there is still enough on there that's super nasty and hot glue will not even stay on and no where for me to put all the vr it just sux all around! cuz the vr already broke off the motherboard twice already and if i keep on breaking it off it's gonna yank the thing off the board and then THAT would suck some real ass!

i been reading up about it and people are saying rubbing alcohol works well but will it work on motherboards?

(the motherboard came with about 10LB of vasline on it anyone know where did this mobo came from? :P)

so anyone?

Gimme three guesses and I'll have an equal chance of being right. :P Just go get some electrical parts cleaner and hose that baby down.

Turn it upside down in the dishwasher, place a little weight on it to prevent it from being tossed around and run it through a cycle. Dry and try...

Electrical parts cleaner guys. It has enough acetone in it to break away the grease. Plus it dries super fast like acetone or alcohol.

Needs lots of compressed air to finish the job still...

Warsh is not just south, western PA says it too.. weird.. the crossover that happens past Harrisburg is a wonder. People talk funny, but all of a sudden are polite. Public restrooms are clean. I love traveling into the sticks :)

I did oven, blow dryer, compressed air, blow dry, bubble bath, blow dry, compressed air, oven, over and over and over and over and the biatch is still slightly greasy. I'll never buy a second hand vaselined board again no matter how good a deal it is.

I just used the hairdryer over and over and let it sit on baseboard heater awhile and turned it this way and that. It didn't all come off in 1 day.

But you couldn't even tell it had been vaselined unless you knew why the sticker on the back looks discolored.

I would have used the dishwasher too, but it's broken.

If there was a spot I wanted to glue to, I'd buy a can of QD electronics cleaner down at the auto parts store.

Mine is clean as a whistle and there was no shortage of vaseline on it. ;) I love it.
