Spec's aren't that bad for the price either. Used to work for Alltel as a smartphone specialist before it was bought out... I'd have to say it doesn't look too bad. I still prefer my BlackBerry or a Palm Treo, but you definitely can't argue with the price. I go AT&T now as well as I prefer the GSM networks to CDMA - especially where I live

No they have a $15 data plan now that they introduced last year which is what I have.

This phone was just introduced in what; June, July last year and it is already this price? I'm telling you, my wife has the 3G iphone and this thing beats it by a land slide. Her phone took for ever to load this forum whereas the Captivate is instant. Zooming in and zooming out of webpages are quick too. ATT has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. You don't like it, simply return it.
damn my reg phone i pay 10 for net and i cant my contract isnt up only the wifes :P
but its 200 MB for $15 so they still suck lol

Nice heard a lot of good about it - tho never tried out the Android platform myself. I highly prefer BlackBerry & Palm Treos to everything else tho. Personally tried Motorola smartphones in the past too, but they suck up battery life like you wouldn't believe.
I'm currently using the RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 - it works awesome for me.

Also just have the Samsung Eternity II (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=2686) that I use solely for business/work. Got it (the Eternity II) for free so I'm not complaining

All smartphones suck up battery life, and Moto is typically a bit better than the competition on battery life right now. BB, while once cutting edge, has been completely surpassed by Android/iOS. Android is just straight up awesome.

Droid 2 user here.
For me it's mostly just a phone and an "anywhere I am" map of roads and services, but I don't think I could ever go back to not having google access on the fly.
Huge improvement over my old iphone. Partly because local AT&T towers suck, but I also much prefer a device that I can boss around instead of one that bosses ME around.
I haven't overclocked it though. It gets fairly hot when working hard just at stock clocks. And I'd actually be screwed if it died on me while out and about. :scared:

Patch, spare batteries are $6 on Amazon. Buy a couple and keep em handy.

Excellent suggestion, my sister does that with her droid X..
What would be the bomb is if they included a chargeable internal battery/capacitor that would let you switch batteries without having to power down and back up.
Used my sisters DroidX the other day.. I was wondering if the screen size makes a difference. I have not used a droid2 yet.. was on my list of possibilities...
TBH its still a little too small for me for comfortable web browsing without a stylus. (Big guy with big hands) But if I understand the tech correctly it is not a capacitive screen so a stylus would not work anyway...
Slightly larger than a droid X... with a capacitive touch would be great and would let me web browse with ease.

I think the next step after the Droid X in terms of size might be the Dell Streak. Thats a pretty big leap in size though. You can get stylus' that do work btw, they just need to be slightly conductive at the tip. My wife has special "smart phone gloves" she uses on her DX.
