Now begins the serious flood of used hardware for sale because it it viewed as "obsolete". ;)

hehe so true. The power consumption figures are very nice though. What I want to see is a comparison between the Maximus IV Extreme vs P67A-UD7 focusing specifically on SLI/xfire performance in games. Gigabyte seems to have taken a straight foward approach to the nf200 implementation and Asus decided to get all funky with it.

Pretty sick numbers for a mid grade platform

What will the third quarter bring when the quad pumped 8 core monsters are abound

Yo, whered you read that glowing piece of information?

OC Maximus

From the Asus OC Guide:

(Please take this with a grain of salt)

Q: How does it do Under Liquid Nitrogen?
A: As the Core frequency scaling capability is inversely proportional with respect to the change of
temperature when the CPU temperature goes down too low, the overclock capability of the CPU
actually reduces dramatically when it reaches below zero degrees. For example, a CPU may do
5.0GHz @ 0C, but only 4.9GHz @ -40C. The ideal temperature for overclocking the Sandybridge
processor under the P67 platform is around 15~20 degrees.

Sandy Bridge EP and EX platforms due out the end of the year. That is where the big boys will be playing I think.

Z68 is rumoured to come out in Q2... which is a H67 with P67 OC support.
and a couple of other new features.
