Currently have a 300gb Raptor that I'm using for benching. I'm also in the middle of building a small 24/7 rig which I still need to purchase a drive for. 24/7 build will be an MSI H57 paired up with an i5 670. Still shopping for a mini case...........

Not sure if I should move the Raptor over to the 24/7 rig and get a small SSD for benching or get a bigger SSD for the 24/7 rig and keep the Raptor for benching.

Guess my question is, how good are SSD's for flashing new OS every time I get new hardware to bench?

Also, can I use an SSD for OS and pair that up with an HHD for backup images?

Sorry for my HHD/SSD noobness and thank you for your time,

OCM

Hey OCM, I use three different ssd's for benching as well as a 150gb vrap. I would recommend the 60gb OCZ vertex 2 ssd,...great fast reliable drive.;)

Thanks for the input!

Is it really necessary to get 60gb hard drive for an os that that will use a maximum of 10-15gb with all necessary apps?

Would a 30gb or 40gb SSD be a better buy for the money for a benching only?

Thanks,
OCM

I have 2x60gb Vertex 2's and a 32gb Vertex 1

I have win7 x64 with all 3d benchies installed on the 32gb drive with plenty of room to spare :) they are virtually impossible to sell though when your done with it eventually.
