I hate to say this, cause the original build worked so well, but...

As you may, or may not, recall, I sent my SS to sdumper a couple months ago for repair. It was found to have a slow leak that he repaired(?) then retuned and sent the rig back to me.

Upon using it immediately upon it's return, it worked like a champ w/ -40C plus temps at full load.

Then it sat for a month or two.

Hooked it up last night and it took about 20 minutes to register -34C with the CPU dead to the world. Once I booted, the temps nosedived and went positive faster than a ... well, you know. Before I knew it I was positive 30 so I shut it down.

Several more attempts yielded the same results

Was going to use it for some tuning on my bench rig, but now I'm using my Corsair A70 with 5 fans and it's doing a pretty good job (at stock clocks)

Guess I gotta try again and hope the fail sauce turns to win ??

I would advise not to run it anymore as it will take the compressor out soon.

I'm pretty sure I tested it on the 980 when it first came back from Scott and it help pretty good. Almost has to be the leak issue. Yeah OC, I shut it off as soon as I saw the temp rise like a fuckin rocket ship and won't be turning it on again.

I hate the thought of spending another 100 bucks to send it to Scott again but I don't know anyone in Chicago who does these. I'm checking with someone I know who's husband is into HVAC but haven't heard back yet.... bitch rofl

Thanks guys, I'll just have to use the air to setup the drives, benches, and OSs, then I guess I'm stuck with the juice:laughing:

I don't think gas will be a prob, I think finding someone locally willing to fix the leak and do the load testing. Might have to load test it on a computer since I don't think they use those things on home systems  Now that I think about it though, shipping it to/from ATL is now tax deductable :D (see my post in the sanctum)
