A while back I got this card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102882&cm_re=HD_5450-_-14-102-882-_-Product
It was a cheap card to boot up and load windows with. I knew it was not crossfireX capable. Just for shits and grins I ran a few benches with it. I noticed some submissions on the bot with a 5450 in crossfireX, and i figured there must be a different version of the 5450.

This card says CrossfireX ready:

Looking at a picture I couldn't see how that is possible, then I noticed "software crossfire". WTF? No physical link between the two.

So, how many cards can be used in software crossfireX? Anyone here know???

After looking at the bot the most I see is 2. As cheap as the card is someone would have run 3 or 4 if it were possible.

software only works with 2. I tried it with a couple of 2400s back in the day.

I have no experience with red software crossfire.
