Intel was kind enough to kick in a little summer sizzle to make the stakes a bit more interesting, too.
If you submit the highest-frequency overclock on either CPU, you’ll win a Core i7-980X processor, an Intel DX58SO motherboard, and two Intel X25-M SSDs to build a quick little RAID 0 array with.
If your submission falls into second or third place, you’ll win a Core i7-980X processor and DX58SO motherboard.
If you’re fourth through 24th (the next 20 highest entrants), you’ll win two cases of Talking Rain Sparkling ICE water to tide you over until it gets a little cooler outside (hey, it’s still in the 90s down here in Southern California). That's 24 winners total.

hmmm $209 investment for well a ton of money for first place. Now that's what I'm talking about!! Finally a contest where you could still come ahead after buying the ln2!!

Of course the 4U2doLn2 contest has that same appeal. ;)

Say what? I received an email saying that I was 4th as well! Something stinks here! Can you post this email? Looks like everybody gets the 4th place and no one the 980x? :keeporder: I wonder if steppy is 4th as well with his 7G submission?

Congratulations on behalf of Bestofmedia Group for winning Fourth Prize in Tom’s Hardware’s Intel K-Series Overclocking Contest!

Please fill out the attached affidavit and return to me. If I don't receive your reply to this email within two days, you are no longer eligible for the prize.

ITs just a phrasing issue.

It did not say you finished in 4th place, but that you won the fourth place prize.

(which is the same prize as 5th-24th place as well :))
