Going LN2 on GPU for first time

Would be trying to put GPU on LN2 for the first time within a week or so. Though have read quite a few guides but its best to ask the inhouse experts before jumping. So guyz help me out by listing out a few steps that are essential while putting GPU under LN2.

What cooler/sink do you guyz use for VRM? I have sinks for memory, I guess I will have to use them right?

For now, will not try to mix it with hard mods, though would certainly put Hipro's bios. What clocks can I expect? Dent said a week or so ago, 1000Mhz on core is possible? If the session goes fine then will try and put some mods.

Oh and what tools to use? I use AB as such for putting more volts. How much volts should I pass so as to not trigger the OCP and OVP on the card?

AB is fine although I like the unlocked precision + e-leet (if you have an evga bios)

1.35-1.4v should get you as high as it will go (with enough cold)

1000 core should be really easy if the card is even decent, try more for 1100+ ;)

for heatsinks...

no need for ddr5 as they are very low heat....

all you need to cover is the mosfets...you don't even have to cover the drivers...

anything aluminum that is wide enough to cover the mosfets and thermal tape..


...note on gpu core....its hot....and when its cold it will get frosty...when hot again..it will melt....WATER...seal the gpu core(sides including back side....just a note

Grease the socket with vaseline.

Some of the anal insulators have recommended not to, but the fact is that the GPU PCB gets very cold and water drips right down into the socket. And those that say that you just need to "keep it frozen so it doesn't drip" live in a fairy land of constant cold temperatures without CB/CBB where there is a mythical barrier between "cold enough to be frozen" and "too warm to condense liquid". I don't care how cold you keep the card, there will always be a transition zone where ice is no longer ice.

You might try that Dragon Skin as well...Splave can fill you in on it's merits.

Take two sedatives and 40 oz malt prior to clocking fermi for the first time, if that goes well you can follow up with dose of elation, good luck, may the force be with u! :P
