Jake died today of a heart attack. A very large piece of me died with him. He was my buddy, by best friend, and my son. Words cannot express the loss I feel. He now lays in a freezer awaiting creamataion, I now now rest in a stupor of 20 year old glenfiddich and a vairiety of prescripton drugs.
At least the scotch is good
Tomorrow will bring a new day, and perhaps in his memeory I'll rock and roll the bot for some boints... perhaps I shall wallow is self pity and grief.
Tomorow will tell

I am very sorry.
For what it is worth I know exactly how you feel.
Losing my dog was so upsetting, I have been afraid to get anotherr one.
Sometimes I get teary eyed just looking at my avatar, and it's been many years.

Very sorry to hear of the loss :(
I have many pets through out my life, both dogs and cats, each one has been different and considered the best one at the time. Right now my Dalmation Dodger is about the best Dog, friend, buddy I could ever ask for and it will be a huge loss when he goes, he is 14 now so getting up there for a medium/large sized dog.
I am a huge animal lover and don't think my life would be complete with out a pet and I am sure after Dodger goes one day out of the blue my next best buddy will find its way to me.
We also have a cat named Juliet who at the time when I moved in here had never been around dogs before, now they are huge best friends, sleep together and play games etc.
Sorry for your loss, MD....
I'll be sure to pour one out for your 4 legged companion as soon as I get home.
I always hate it when a good dog has to go.

Oh this sucks. I am so sorry to hear this Jim. If you need anything at all bud, I am just a phone call away. The pain is unbearable, I know, but I hope it begins to subside soon. Guess its time to pay attention to your girl, she really needs you now.

Yeah Bren the pain is unbearable. Didn't really hit Katey until I took Jakes collar off, then she came up close and started sniffing around is mouth and nose. She is in a real funk today and doesn't seem to me much I can do about it. I give her all the attention i can but she has this sad far away look in her eyes... they'd been together since Katey was 6 weeks old
And thanks everyone else, and my condolences to you who have lost pets. Bren said it right, it really sucks.
Gonna spend the day with the family, the bots safe for one more day at least

Ah man, my condolences big time bro, I've had to watch the life fade from my dog "freckles" after a 15 year stint, its pretty traumatic shit.
Katey is gonna have a really rough time of it as I'm sure the vet has told you. Hang in there bro, I'm sure them dogs have and had the times of their lives under your care.
