I sold my old 40in Sammy, and probably going to sell my 40in Toshiba. Got approved for a bestbuy card, and they have 36 months no intrest on TVs right now, so I went ahead and got one :)
I had narrowed it down to the Samsung C630, Sony EX500, Toshiba G300U, and LG LD550.
When I got there, the sales man Ive been working with was fixing a connection to the C630. So at first, that one wasnt on. The Toshiba and the LG were side by side, and they were mixed. The LG had better darks, but the Toshiba had better color. By then he had the Sammy on, which was only two screens away from the LG and Toshiba. It took two seconds to knock the Toshiba and LG out of the running lol.
The Sony's were about 15 steps down the isle, so I couldnt really compair with them. But walking back and forth a dozen times, I saw no difference between the EX500 and the C630. They were both priced cheaper ($936.99) then they are online, so I started going down the list of features I wanted. Both had them all.
So it came down to two things, the input lag and the reflectiveness of the screens. The Samsung in PC mode is supposed to have less lag then the Sony, and the Samsung had slightly less glair from the lights (he tilted them towards the ceiling). So, I walked out with the C630, $1189.56 with 4 year warranty and tax. If I dont like it, Ill take it back for the Sony, but doubt that will happen.
Unboxing and review to fallow soon.
