I sold my old 40in Sammy, and probably going to sell my 40in Toshiba. Got approved for a bestbuy card, and they have 36 months no intrest on TVs right now, so I went ahead and got one :)

I had narrowed it down to the Samsung C630, Sony EX500, Toshiba G300U, and LG LD550.

When I got there, the sales man Ive been working with was fixing a connection to the C630. So at first, that one wasnt on. The Toshiba and the LG were side by side, and they were mixed. The LG had better darks, but the Toshiba had better color. By then he had the Sammy on, which was only two screens away from the LG and Toshiba. It took two seconds to knock the Toshiba and LG out of the running lol.
The Sony's were about 15 steps down the isle, so I couldnt really compair with them. But walking back and forth a dozen times, I saw no difference between the EX500 and the C630. They were both priced cheaper ($936.99) then they are online, so I started going down the list of features I wanted. Both had them all.

So it came down to two things, the input lag and the reflectiveness of the screens. The Samsung in PC mode is supposed to have less lag then the Sony, and the Samsung had slightly less glair from the lights (he tilted them towards the ceiling). So, I walked out with the C630, $1189.56 with 4 year warranty and tax. If I dont like it, Ill take it back for the Sony, but doubt that will happen.

Unboxing and review to fallow soon.

Calibrated it for the 360 so far.
Played some COD:Classic and BF:BC2. There is almost no lag that I can notice. If I very quickly tap the trigger as fast as I can, by the time my finger is off the trigger the gun is in the proccess of firing. So its not instant, but its plenty good enough, even for fast passed shooters.

Here are a couple better shots. Both with quick calibrations, havent touched the color options yet. The BF:BC2 is 360 over HDMI, the pic from TV is Directv HD over HDMI.

Love the set so far. Viewing angles are amazing, no change at all from different seats around the living room. No artifacts, dead/stuck pixels, almost perfect uniformity (ever so slightly brighter in one spot, but you have to be about two feet away to see it), no bleeding at all.

And finally, some 1080P Blu-Ray of Avatar (from HTPC via HDMI).
