--- never call your local ln2 supplier....FACE to FACE is the only way. these guys know what they're selling. you calling them makes them kinda feel estranged..about this idiot calling for ln2 pricing......... on the phone pricing was @ 3.5$/liter
--- be prepared to answer what you'll use it for..honesty helped.
--- pricing...most have bulk pricing..ask for this..(bulk price indicated on my receipt) and some have monthly pricing.
--- mention the size of your dewar...they already know the bulk price all you have to do is press the button..and say the magic number 10L or more.
--- they know doctors buy LN2 with 1L flasks and make tons of money killing of warts.
--- mention its for a hobby and not for any financial gain..or however you can say that
--- my man craig said...."you making icecream?" straight face noh..
--- anyways i got 30liters for 1.5$/liter .....much less expensive than dice.
anyways when my 2nd dewar arrives i'll buy 60liters and see if i can get a lower price....
can you guys post how much per liter you're getting your ln2? and how many liters usually?
this is addictive :D

I payed $30 for 50L
$0.60L
Then the guy said that he was losing money when I came, which I can understand as hes filling like 250L's all day for people and then he has to fill a 250L to fill my 50L because its all computerized from their silos and my dewar doesnt even way in rofl
So we aggreed on $40 for 50L
$0.80L
I told him it was for a computer racing team and we use hollowed copper ingots to cool computer processors with the ln2. He said, whoa thats cool. (bring pics)

Now that I'm actually paying, my prices are dropping with each visit, 55L total with 3 probe drill bits = $26 bucks.
I change my story around sometimes depending on who asks.
- I'm working on a folding project to help cure disease and running a semi-conductor under ln2 provides faster results
- I'm an overclocker (doesn't go well, frequently get the O.o look)
- I use it to cool my computer (same face O.o but with the "You're full of shit" look and quite possibly a terrorist)
- I live in a low-income neighborhood and make ice-cream for the neighborhood kids
- If you give me free or cheap Ln2, you can call me when the popo pull you over or bust down your doo. (this one works good)
Another tip, if your 20L dewar has a sticker that says "8" on it and the tech asks you if its an 8 liter, tell him no its a 20L but you can put 8L on the paper. Worked like a charm.
Oh and yah, local style is you pick up or cator lunch for the entire crew and drop it off with the manager and say thanks for the good service. (either that or an envelope once every other month with "Lunch" money in it)

About .83 cents a litre here. The guys tell me they lose more than they sell. They know what I do with mine as we had that discussion up front and were keen to hear more about it. I was told the hot (or cold) use for it now is the branding of cattle. They shave and disinfect the area to be branded with the "cold iron". Once completed, the hair grows back white and remains that way .

Thats a good excuse for my increasing white hair, its from Ln2 splashes.

Actually, "freeze Branding", is more commonly used on horses, rather than cattle.
Before buying this machine shop, I farmed and ranched for 15 yrs. in southern Saskatchewan. ( I'd love to here all you Americans pronounce that. )
Anyway, we always branded in the traditional fashion of roping the calves and dragging them to the branding fire on horseback, where we would use a hot iron to apply the brand. Just like the old western movies.

I'm screwed.
The only people that use LN2 in my parts are wineries and hospitals - so it's priced accordingly.
Aeris and Airgas both charge me more than $6/L.
Luckily a mom and pop welding supply opened that worked out a $2/L deal with me to fill my dewars. Now that they've gotten about $1000 from me so far I'm trying to negotiate lower prices. Problem is that they know what the other guys charge.......
But, they recently quoted me $150 + $45 rental + $25 deilivery for 180L tank. Problem is they say they need their 1ton truck with a lift to deliver to residential addresses.......and it's been in the shop for weeks...
