I haven't seen this one in person yet but I am a Samsung man. Every TV and monitor in my house is a Samsung. Phone too. They have one of the best contrast ratios out there. That thing looks nice!

What's the refresh rate on it? Didn't see it in the specs.

1080p at 27" are you going to be sitting right in front of it? My 28" 1920x1200 res I sit in front of but I mainly bought it as a bedroom HTPC monitor.

It is great for that. :)

TN better for gaming (response times) but for IQ go pva or IPS.

I will be using it for evgeryday surfing and e-mail but mostly I bought it to be a gaming monitor .....

it will be right in front of me so I am hoping it has a good picture ....

I have the Samsung T240 which is the 1920 x 1200 24in format. LOVE it for gaming and surfing. Saw the one you're looking at at Costo and was real tempted... don't really need it though :P

Looked real good in the store :)

PS.. mine sits about 15 inches in front of me... perfect picture :)

personally, I'd sacrifice a bit of screen real estate and grab a 1920x1200.

Never been a fan of Samsung, almost through one of their techs through a wall when he told me the "HGTV" (wife watches it, not me lol) logo burn-in on a Plasma was normal and that it's not covered under warranty.

That's a nice find Rev .... But Screen Realestate is what I am after ....

wanted to 32" LED but just do not have the funds ....

I am really hoping for the best as I have never owned a Sammy

When you're that close, 1.5 inches isn't going to make a difference homie, but the higher res will. Less need to use high AA is good!

QFT

Larger screen smaller res will actually hurt up close.

There ain't nothing wrong with 1080p especially on a 27" screen. Just had my hands on a 25" 1080p the other day and was loving it! Your going to love this screen I'm telling you. Wish they had a solid black version as I'm not into the red theme. I have a 23" Samsung 1152 resolution and am sitting up on it about 18" a way with no problems what so ever.

Verdict is is in

The Good:

This LCD is one multimedia whore
Visuals are stunning and the 2ms green to green never leaves you waiting
This thing preforms in games and pitures as well as movies and videos
The screen is beatiful and no dead pixels what so ever
Fro gaming it is large enough you are totally emmersed in the game
The TOC is just too sexy and as it says just a touch ... not gaughty and actually very stylish and contemporary.....
No VGA but has DVI and HDMI
It has audio and digital Audio out
Packaging is very good and the egg had it to my door in 27 hours from when I hit the buy button

The Bad:

The text is not very good on this monitor and would recomend sonething else for office work and so forth.
it is however adequet for e-mail and surfing
This screen takes a painstakenly long time to set up as factory set up is dog shit

Overall for what I plan to use it for, this LCD is just what the doctor ordered

I would recomend this produt to anyone who asked just stay away from it for work related stuff such as word proceesing and spread sheets as you will surly go blind

Did you adjust the cleartype settings in windows? Can really help with text on LCD if you are running XP. Vista/7 I think have cleartype enabled by default, but could probably still be adjusted.

Yea I have clear type on amd adjusted it for over an hour.
I have the text prtty good and it is not as nice as my 24" HP
But it is decent enough ofr what I use it for....

Playing Wolfenstien as I have had that game forever and never got a chance to play it.
The monitor is second to none in the gaming arena ........

Guess the pixel pitch is just do great for clear text then.

IT would be even worse on an HDTV

Yea and keep in mind it is not horrific or anything .... and is fine for e-mail and stuff

I just would not want to do word processing with it all day is all

I am very happy with it for sure ............

Warhead is sick onit ..... ready for Crysis 2
