The CPU's and cards in these comps are handed out randomly, correct? That means luck + skill = anyone can win.
Hmmm.....I wish I could get flown somewhere where cheerleaders fill up thermoses for you...

They have NEVER done open comp for the US. Every year I complain (in any GOOC thread I can find) and every year my teammates tell me im whining. :ash1:
USA is the only region in the world, where the event is an invite only. I think its pretty shameful. Just my opinion of course since others have told me....
Me: Too bad gigabyte does invite only... so lame.
someone: whining about not getting invited instead of stepping up to the plate and making sure you get asked...is so lame
Me:OK, so having the same ppl go year in and year out is somehow representative of North Americas overclockers (or even interesting)? Online qualifiers is how its done for the rest of the world, except NA. Im not whining im pointing out a flaw:rolleyes:
someone: i understand your side of the coin, but there is a very distinct recipe for getting invited...and IMO, it takes more effort to get invited than an online qualification would offer, so which method really is better?

I can already tell you who "someone" is by the attitude that purtrudes through words. :P
Which method is better for whom? Sounds like someone feels like they might get a little too much competition from the little guy.
I don't know who it is and I do not care... Whoever "someone" is, is a prick.

Well the way I look at it is this. An open and EVEN/FAIR competition should quality who goes to LA for the NA finals. Taking the top NA ppl from the bot isnt necessarily representative, since to be on top of the bot you have to have all the latest gear = $$$ and/or connections. I mean if you were rich, you could be completely skilless and still be in the top of the bot...
I feel ya' Karma
I thought that being open and fair was the whole point of having competitions in the first place. So this is pretty much just a "showcase" for the NA set then.... I mean, if I played one on one against my brother every time, I know the score would be 21-5 every time.... how is that competition?

Good point buddy. Thats the kind of attitude that gets under my crawl in some certain thread(s). The very few that try and keep out the many. What they need to do is be representatives of the sport and foster the fever; just as Kal says. Then if they wanna "step up" to the next new competitior that gets a shot because of a strong qualifier then they can do it.

It's like GSP or Lesner refusing to fight the next contender because they don't train in the same facility (read, hang in the same circle).
Total ass, and these are the guys that are crippling talent.

equally bs banik, this type of selective qualifying is unheard of in any other competitive activity.

Yeah its all BS. You don't even get a chance to compete. :Dizzy:
whhhy not, i think there should be a US comp. So many competent players its Ridiculous!
and hell we dont even have that many clockers in SA. so its strange that countries with LOTS of clockers dont have qualifiers :/. Australia also do a qualifier round

Yeah you know how it is. Gigabyte US has some boys lined up for the job here so no need for us to mix up their party. Dont want to name any names here but we all know who we talking about.
