Holy shit thats bad news!
Looks like someone got eff'd in the aye....
I sat and read that whole thread.... So many of those places with big warehouses get ripped off constantly. The warehouse I ran for a while was no exception. It is very rare that high claim items are taken in mass quantities though for this reason.
It so much easier to get caught. HTF is someone going to unload 300 chips w/out getting noticed? It would take too long to sell a couple at a time and make the money that would make the theft pay off.
Someone is going down for this, especially in the US, but Intel and related businesses bring a nice economy boost to whatever area they are in, so local enforcement is sure to put hands on the persons involved no matter where they are... I would. Only in movies do things like this go unpunished..... :keeporder:
That said, if anyone has roughly 300 920's they want to sell, I might think about giving $5 each for the hottest items on the black market right now... Then I'd get to be on tv too!
Edit: Holy shit!!! I just rambled like a coke-head. Quitting smoking starting today. Sorry for the long and everywhere posts.

Wow is all I can say! Here is some more on it:
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/03/05/newegg_selling_fake_intel_cpus
And more:
"In an almost surreal tale of events, USA electronics retailer Newegg has discovered a reported 300 counterfeit Intel Core i7 920 CPU’s in its inventory, some of which were inadvertently shipped out to buyers!
"Initial reports of the fakes began yesterday when at least 3* 5 separate incidents totaling 7* 9 counterfeit processors cropped up on Youtube, HardOCP and the Overclockers.com forums. The recipients of the fakes had all purchased the CPU’s from Newegg.com within the past few days."

That's almost certainly a big time operation involving thousands of cases, most likely originating at the source in Asia... scary

The price newegg charges they must be buying direct from intel.. which means Costa Rica probably. MC might be getting asian chips dunno, they got some stewy pot brewing to charge 80 less than anyone else.
