i still have it in a box i've seen some doing some damage with it....anybody who's gotten familiar with this whatchamacallitdevice?

Kal-El notes:

If it starts blinking or you start having issues, press reset button on the upper right, if that doesn't work, unplug and re-plug
If evbot says "Off" in the voltages or clocks, you MIGHT have been benching too long and the cold is getting to the chip. This is my primary indicator for performance/stability drop off.
On the face of evbot, there are numbers 1,2,3,4,. This is for saving profiles, simply press and hold to save a profile or load a profile.
Interface is intuative for an overclocker, reading the manual isn't necessary.
P55 has its own Evbot bios
X58 has its own Evbot bios
Flash is via windows.

I haven't gotten to know it fully yet but what I have used of it I like. I recommend you open the box and get to know it as it will prolly become one of your best friends. :D

Welcome to the team too bro. Capitulated us into #9 place. :cool3:

I need to man up one day and get to know it for what it is worth. I'm talking hooking it up to my mobo and gpu at the same time and do some on the fly adjustments during benches.

You'll love it. On the first run on a new 920 I played with mine. I was just about out of dice, so I thought it would be perfect to get acquainted with it. Ran to 4ghz without even seeing the bios.... Wonderful little toy, even for a noober like me.

Just used mine for the first time today during a DICE session and it was a lifesaver. No need for a tutorial, just plug it in and mash the buttons, it does exactly what you want it to do.

I havnt tried the EVBOT, didnt think it was worth the investment.

Any one think it is a valuable asset for benching?

I think it is going to spoil the shit out of me. :D

Imagine being able to change your BIOS settings w/out leaving a benchmark. I was clocking with cpu-z open and nothing else. I would get 8 - 10 mhz bclk at a time without incident. That is huge once you figure your freq's in during say 3dmark 06 between cpu and gpu tests. That could mean monster scores on normal runs. I'm sure it takes a little finesse and a lot of timing...

also flashing it takes like 3 minutes, just let it do its thing. Scrolls a shit ton of garbage in the dos prompt you flash in.

Epic for 06 and vantage. I was downclocking from 5.3ghz in the 3d tests to 5.0ghz on the cpu test (when I hadnt hammered down cpu settings yet)

A very handy little toy :D Like having eleet and then some in your hand in the middle of a bench

Was thinking about buying a second so I wouldn't have to flash when I used the P55 Classy, but the price is up to 100 bucks now :( Oh well... lol

They are a must with Clarkdales because I already have 13+ complaints about Eleet killing the cpu's them when upping vcore or vtt (including mine). Good tip!

great point, also when you go crazy on the bclk and get boot fails you can tone it down, press reset and wham your back in it without clearing cmos

That's good to know. I also have great success using PS2 keyboard 'Insert' key.

Ps. Just saw in your sig that lucky 'basterd' hitandrun got your cascade

Double echo that in case someone didn't hear, if you FREEZE, back down the bclck with EvBot to your boot in settings before pressing RESET, this will prevent having to do a COLD BOOT and CBB out.

Hey son, I finally jumped into the evbot bandwagon what setting you use here with your 6.5++Mhz Clarkie:

And why the HWmonitor doesn't work even though I run e-leet from windows?

Thanks!
