Hello overclockaholics and welcome to this edition of "I totally suck!!" So this past Friday I got the dewar filled after having the board prepped all week for ln2. :band2: It was going to be some hwbot pwnage. :smackbum:

So I'm sure you are expecting to see some results for the session, right? :clapping: HAHAHA, wishful thinking. I spent 8 freaking hours with only a crappy wprime 1024m result that's not worthy of admitting the use of ln2. That is honestly the only result I got for the whole night. :rroulette: Here is the run:

Great session huh? I think Kal is right. I hadn't benched in so long that I went into my 2d drive to test out clocks to see what she will do on ln2. I'm sure I forgot a few key settings too. It just seems like after the first 45 minutes the chip didn't want to act right. Sadly I spent that time running untweaked 2d trying to find the cb and max clocks. I would pull the board down really cold and try to let it sit for a while to see if she wanted to play again. She told me I wouldn't getting any and that was the truth  By the time I got to testing clocks for vantage she was done. I passed a couple cpu test around 5ghz. After those, I couldn't even pass at 4.6ghz. I thought I hurt the chip, but she still clocks good on air.

BTW, I had no condensation to speak of when I tore the rig down :Dizzy: Oops, I almost forgot to add the frosty pics.

So here is what I learned in this session:

-I SUCK!
-This CPU has NO CB. Full pot doesn't bother her at all.
-Get your runs in early!!
-I still SUCK!

Well, hopefully my 3580 isn't a dud like this one. Nice frosty pics tho :D

Dude, that session ruined my weekend. It still bothers me at the level of FAIL I achieved.

Don't sweat the details bro.....

Just move on to the next session and bring it on the best you can.

I can tell you one thing I have thrown away so many boints by not submitting runs I thought sucked balls........... I have since learned now I post every result regaudless.

You should have seen a few weeks ago I was bencjhing the biggest POS X800 card in the history of the world.... posted it for the four points it gave me over 6 3D benches and as imbarrising as it was we are 4 more points ahead of our closest competetor and 4 points closer to taking a spot ...........

If people want to judge let them, but in the end the Alliance will rule the world. Speaking volumes with our results and are indivisible and providing justice for all overclockers out their............. :clapping:

That has happened to me far more times then I would like to admit. usually its something with the prep job I did, CPU mounting or some dumb thing like that.

For many boards I have run when things stay cold for to long some IC's start acting up and thens when I lose my OC's and things start falling apart.

A rule I made for myself when running stuff, is never get things going good and they say ... ok this is great now, I can pick this back up tomorrow... HAHA ! never works like that. :)

Ya I learned that too, but this time I literally didn't have any results to submit. After running some sub par cpu tests, shit went down hill. Like I said, I couldn't even pass 06 at 4.6ghz. I did finish an 03 run, but crashed as I was opening cpuz for the screeny. :(

Meh, I'm sure it happens to everybody sometimes. I used a little more eraser for ln2 than I did with dice. IDK, coulda had too much and got the caps too cold???? Oh well I through this thread up to laugh at myself and show others that they aren't the only ones to have issues.

IMO looks like the Uncore needs to be toned down a multi or 2, for wprime it doesnt really matter about uncore or ram speed. I leave it at x16 and ram cas 8 works great.

Well that setup was for super pi. I just ran wprime as a gauge of 3d. I can bench about anything at 4900mhz uncore on dice. After that run I went to the vista drive and played with every uncore multi from auto and up. Setup just didn't wanna play that night.

gotcha and that happens, with the cascade some days I benched for 15 minutes and stopped from frustration at money settings from the night before.

S happens

Everyone has a fail session, at the level we are running things, they just dont always act as expected.

I spent a LOT of time and energy getting ready for my uberleet-4870x2 on dice session ... and got .2 points out of it lol.

My first dice session with a 5870 was total fail, the next time I picked up a TON of points.

Gotta dust yourself off and keep pushing forward!

I hear ya Chuch my LN2 session sucked also this weekend. I feel Im being rushed when benching on Dice or LN2 an neglect the little things I think. But if Im on my chiller Im relaxed an chill.

Ill be getting some ln2 tomorrow an hopefuly I'll do better. I was so frustrated last run the classy was lucky I didnt snap it over my knee. And if I still cant pass 3d at 5.1 or above you might just hear massive Fbombs comming from Michigan.

LoL

I felt like this the first 4 or 5 ln2 sessions. After that I learned the ways of the pour, temp behaviors, lil idiosyncrocy stuff and gained some mhz.

Hey kal if I ever get to that level will be calling for some pointers bro

next for me is Dice though then we will see how things go, but not sure if a 920 is eveb worth putting the Ln2 too as we were cold bugging with dice ..........:ohcrap:
