Does anyone have a list of quality psu's that have (2) 12v 8 pin cpu connectors besides PC Power & Cooling?

Antec Quattro 1200W <<< what I'm using now and love it.
Corsair HX1000 <<< the extra 12v is taken from one of the pci-e slots though, in my 2nd system
Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W <<< used it for almost a year without issue

Thanks guys - Another question...is that second 12v 8 pin conn. of any consequence if not using any high power video cards?

for the antec and the thermaltake, the 2nd 12v connection is solely for the CPU, so the vid card should not matter.

for the corsair, the 2nd 12v cpu connection plugs into a gpu 12v location, it would depend more on the quantity of gpu's vs. the power of 1 gpu for this PSU

I guess what I am getting at is the other 12v cpu connector critical for overclocks in the 4.5GHz range?

I be speaking of the P55 mb specifically atm...

ahhhh, wouldn't think so for P55 at that speed. More for 1366 5GHz and up

10-4 good buddy...I won't worry about it then. I will just stick with the Corsair psu's I have on hand.

Just to fill in the blanks here, I do all my testing on a bench rig that holds a 1200w PC Power & Cooling psu.

Current builds contain a Evga LE mb/920 DO using a Corsair 850w psu. Of course the LE mb has only one 12v cpu conn. I am using a minimal gpu in it and it runs 4.2GHz HT on/4.5GHz HT off under water with no problems.

I am testing a Evga P55 FTW mb/i5 670 atm @ 4.7GHz. It has two 12v mb conn. on the board and was curious as to the effects of using just one in the final build.

Just use one 8pin while testing then bro. I don't think the i5's need two no matter what speed you oc them to. They are rated at something like 65w tdp.

I say if the second one is there, it's there for a reason and should be used - dammit lol

I still need to setup my P55 Classy but I have a "spare" TT 1200 toughpower so I'll be using both 8 pins anyway

Good luck bro

some mobos like the 657/658/659s they're rated at 600w ...some eps connectors an do 50A but some don't thats why the mobos i mentioned have 2 eps connectors and an auxillary 12v molex on the mobo.... depending on the cpu... an i5 won't draw 40A...but an i7-860 can be pushed hard ...860? its obsolete :D
