Interestingly enough, it seems the problems I am having with my i5 benching limits are standard policy. Check this out, it sure did make me feel better bout my skills (or lack of it lol)

gotta love how everyone of those guys who go through skids of ES chips are the first ones to say that they suck

Today I went thru about 20 liters trying for a good 01 with the 670. I pulled one of the GTX280's out of the Warbird, and set it up with the new tech 5.0 6.66 gpu pot I just recieved from Vince. Although the card would go to 965MHz on the core with the 185.85's and the 670 was at 6.1GHz at 2:8 (ram @ 1800 6-7-6-18 4.8Gt), and I utilized lod tweaks and run orders, the scores were consistantly around 95k.
I am really starting to see why most peeps say that i5 sucks for 3d unless you are running 05 and have a chip that will do close to 7GHz.
Tomorrow back to the 920do/e760 ftw with the 280. I will put her thru all the moves and see if I can pick up some global and a bunch of team goodness.
Thought you guys might like to know.

That 280 will RULE with the 920 behind it, trust me :D

I think you will have much better luck with a 920 in 01. It'll be interesting to see a comparison. :D
you have GTX 280 power it sounds like... Going to 06 and 05 if you havn't already?

I think the 6.1 670 would be sick in 03 rom. And yeah atleast you know the 280 is a winner

I recently received a couple more 670's for batch testing. Here are my results.
All three chips are from batch #L937B909 Malaysia.
Chip1 cb @ -141c, cbb @ -120c, wprime32 @ 6141MHz (http://hwbot.org/community/submission/951283_romdominance_wprime_32m_core_i5_670_7sec_75 0ms), Spi 1M @ 6168MHz (http://hwbot.org/community/submission/957937_romdominance_superpi_core_i5_670_6sec_922ms )
Conclusion: cb does not allow cold enough passes to get good scores, great wprime chip, poor spi and pifast chip.
Chip2 cb @ -167c, cbb @ -130c, wprime32 @ 6050 (no result worth posting), Spi 1M @ 6363MHz (http://hwbot.org/community/submission/964680_romdominance_superpi_core_i5_670_6sec_719ms )
Conclusion: good temp headroom, way better spi and pifast runs but poorer wprime.
Chip3 cb @ -153c, cbb @ -110c, wprime32@ 6120 (no result worth posting), Spi 1M @ 6437MHz (http://hwbot.org/community/submission/966788_romdominance_superpi_core_i5_670_6sec_641ms )
Conclusion: although temp headroom was not as good, better oc for spi and pifast runs.
Tests were obviously on LN2 with a single stock cooled gtx260-216 in slot 1.
Shammy settings with latest bios on classy p55-200 board. All vcore was limited to 1.9V max as not to harm the chips.
The best tidbit I have for anyone preparing to bench these chips, they scale with cold, not voltage, if you overvolt them you WILL lose them.
Thanks to my suppliers for the opportunity to test the great variations within the same batch. The chip game is as hit and miss as ever.:clapping:

Not all chips are created equal! Iv tested dozens of chips from same week or batch and had ridicilus variations in results.
