I've been spanking the hell out of my OCZ's with the ICH10 but this card is freaking sweet. This 2x core i5 670 pc05 run kicked my 3570 quad's ass. But thats until i set up that bad ass chip on this sweet RAID card. lol

I wouldnt do it for a 24/7 rig. It's just another investment in the bencher for me. There's really no need for this kind of speed in a daily use pc.

Wow sick score man!
I can not wait till SSDs come down enough in price that I can make that investment :)
I will be torn though... 24/7 rig... bench rig... argh.

chuchnit... ssd's for 24/7 GREAT investment....
SSD's for benching BAD IDEA...
They corrupt very easy.... only good for pcmark...
get a couple velociraptors or a single and run for benching

Exactly. Its a big investment for 1 bench run.

Hmmm This install went a little smoother and the numbers show it. I think also the fact i cleaned the drives before the install. I had a few botched installs (cause i'm a nooob at RAID cards) on the i670 setup and i didn't do sanitary erase before the final sucessful one. The tests look good but i was expecting better on the quad. Then again high clocks mean nothing in the bench.

SSD's for 24/7 use ??
I love them :)
I have gotten so used to the speed of these bad boys that going back to HDD's is not an option for my 24/7 use.

I heard that ... another year or two and mechanical drives will be a thing of the past.
I still use them for storage but couldn't even think about an OS install on one anymore
SSD = WIN IMHO

I just wanted to remark on a theory i have. Since i've installed my LSI RAID Card i have had no corruption issues at all because of crashes. I'm on my 5th install of RAID0 arrays since my purchase of the card only because of the want/need to switch OS's. But, in all of the installs i bsod'd, (too many times to count) i've never once lost my OS because of a hard crash. My thoery is that all the ruined RAID0 OS's that happend because of system crashes relate directly to the ICH10.

Put the RAID Card on the 2600K and Asus M4E. Something went right. Ran it 3 time to make sure i was reading this right. Idk but it looks promising.

This aint hte same Vertex drives is it? The pic is small but it says 1.75M writes and 2.5M reads? That is not possible with 4 drives!!!!

What i thought Neuro. Yea same drives but only 3 not 4. I figured it out i think. I was running Atto @ 256mb length. Should be 1gb i think. Scores the same over and over on 256. I get around 500W/800R @ 1gb length.

Ahh.. I looked up your card (Im not used to dedicated RAID cards)
"512MB DDRII cache (800MHz)"
ATTO was benching the onboard cache I suppose :)
This bodes well since it can handle a number of drives it should at least post well into the 2GB/s range :) WITHOUT taxing the CPU.
I need to get my a HW RAID card. First thing though is more HDD/SSDs
