Thoughts? Recommendations? I only want 3 gigs as I don't due anything to require more than this and 3 gigs will overclock better than 6 gigs.

Corsair has listed the IC's used in each of their kits. I know i4memory has the list. Actually the new 3x2 kits are clocking like crazy though.
These right here are either Samsung HCFO or the new 50nm Eldipa IC's that are crushing super pi records. Both IC's are sweet chips. These aren't much more either.

Can't you use these in a x48 mobo? Thought I read somewhere you can use these modules on the older boards too?

Yah but I haven't found any threads from people stating that they still perform at the low volts. The Samsung HCFO IC's were used before i7 anyway. As a matter of fact, they were in alot of the top 2000mhz kits.

The 3x2gig sticks are the Eldipa IC's but they are never in stock. I am afraid to get those I will have to have the $250 sittin on the side line and be ready to jump. I signed up for notify me when in stock so we will see.
For those that are up to par, Eldipa IC's are the same which are used in the Corsair Dominator GT 7-8-7-20, OCZ Blade PC3-16000 7-8-7-x and G.Skill's Perfect Storm DDR3-2000 7-8-7-x. eva2000 brought me up to par over at Xtreme on this.

EDIT: Went to Kingston's site and they show them to be out of stock until 6/10/2009!!!! Just going to have to get the Corsair's for now and maybe in the 3 months prices will be down on them and they will be in stock.

After combing the web there is no real proof of whether the Kingston HyperX 3x1 gigs are Eldipa IC's or not. One site referred to them as being it but who knows. I know the 3x1's are cas 9's while the 3x2's are cas 8's. I would have preferred to had the 3x2's but they are out of stock and no tellin when they will be in stock. All I know is my mobo and cpu will be here the 1st of next week so I went ahead and ordered the Kingston HyperX DDR3 2000 3x1 giggers!
