Threw the Asus 5870's on the Evga 4-way Classified E762 Motherboard. Initially I had some problems. Turned out that I had no paging file set on this Windows 7 32bit partition. Set page file, reboot, now it runs o.k.

First Vantage run:

Surely with the new 9.12's out, there's 40K in that set-up... :D

You're prolly right. Cept them pesky driver issues I been having. Maybe I need to install smart doctor.

Never had any luck with Smart doctor ...

But those clocks don't seem to bad for four cards .....

Maybe give three a shot may be able to get a little more out of them.

I have read the Multi card scaling is better with 9.12's but that is nothing I have personally been able to prove

CPU speed @ 4.8 to 5 I would hope gets you in that 40K realm .................:clapping:

In for the results .... good luck bro I am sure it is a blast playing with four of those beasts .....

Nice man!

How did things go yesterday? Did you hit 38?

Kal-EL

I hit 37k at around 4.5ghz but I want my usual 4.72ghz vantage air clock that I normally get on the 759 board. The 762 apparently wants to play hard to get so that is my mission.

Ive heard some grumbles from people that the 762 doesnt clock as well for bloomfield. I imagine if you played with those QPI signal compensations you could make some headroom? Or are those for subzero only

Sometimes when boards have soooo many options, I think it just hinders performance for the majority. Because then unless you tweak them all you won't get what the board can deliver. Of course, for the peeps that have the knowledge and experience that shouldn't be that hard.

I think it could be that I don't have the x-jumper set to x-treme cold. If I recall correctly, it helps with the higher air clocks as well, which would make it my goof. But time will tell.

Headed out to fill the 35L and two 10L dewars :D

i7's seem to have very specific voltage ranges they like to work under which are different for every chip. Trial and error is the only way to figure it out, and from my observations, subzero and air clocking each have a different range.

Man, I kicked and pushed this board hard today and I just couldnt run past 5.2ghz on 3D05. Another strange thing, I guess, is these ati cards just shit themselves if the cpu is a lil unstable, just turns off the video and says screw it.

High point was around 40k in 3D05, not that impressive by my estimates @ 1100/1300 on a single 5870.

Theres always next week ;)

haha 09 was soo long ago ;) Hopin I can pull off a good session soon. Now I gotta waist ln2 trying to beat your cpu score.
